WTDWPK Chapter 6

Got... Got Kissed!

Those words hit Song Yu like a bolt of lightning, nearly causing his soul to leave his body.

Luckily, after three years in the entertainment industry, he had developed some basic acting skills and quick reflexes. With wide, innocent eyes, he looked at Fu Yuqian, pretending not to understand a word. To maintain the act, he even started chasing his own tail for fun.

While spinning, he secretly glanced at Fu Yuqian’s reaction, panicking internally. **This nemesis of mine is already suspicious of me! Do I not act like a real cat? I’ve been eating cat food and playing with the cat toy with him!**

**Drawing on the bed is something cats do all the time. After all, cats are known to be aloof and hold grudges.**

Fu Yuqian’s expression was unreadable, showing no hint of suspicion. After Song Yu nearly spun himself dizzy, Fu Yuqian finally said, “Looks like I overthought it. Yiyi has always been smart. I’m just confused from overwork. How could a person turn into a cat?”

Crisis averted! Song Yu spun a few more times, then collapsed onto the bed, panting slightly. **That was exhausting! Fu Yuqian, you just wait!**

Unbeknownst to Song Yu, a faint smile flickered across Fu Yuqian’s face, but it quickly disappeared.

The “tent” had disappeared as well, and Fu Yuqian got out of bed. Song Yu kept his eyes shut, terrified of seeing anything shocking again.

Soon, the sound of running water came from the bathroom. As a guy, Song Yu knew exactly what was happening, feeling a pang of jealousy. **I couldn’t compete in my human form, and now as a cat, I’m even smaller.**

Song Yu jumped off the bed and trotted back to his own room.

He’d originally planned to use the bathroom for his biological needs, since using a litter box as a human was too embarrassing. But to fully dispel Fu Yuqian’s suspicions, he reluctantly used the litter box. Fortunately, it was automatic, so once he jumped out, it cleaned itself.

With a toy in his mouth, Song Yu jumped onto the cat tree and began playing out of boredom. Suddenly, he heard the TV turn on downstairs, and it was tuned to the entertainment channel!

Song Yu immediately jumped down and ran to the living room, pretending to casually stroll in. Noticing that Fu Yuqian wasn’t in the living room but in the kitchen making food, Song Yu thought, **Oh wow, it’s probably some horrible dish.**

Seeing Fu Yuqian busy in the kitchen, Song Yu leapt onto the couch and started watching TV. His news was on.

A female reporter stood outside the First People’s Hospital with a microphone, reporting live: “It’s been confirmed that Song Yu is still in a coma. Many of his fans have been standing vigil outside the hospital. Let’s hear from a few of them.” She approached some weary-looking young women, “How long have you been fans of Song Yu?”

The girls, with red, swollen eyes and exhausted expressions, still had a determined glint in their gaze. Despite resisting the interview, they politely said, “Could you please not interview us? We’re really not in the mood to talk right now.”

The reporter, slightly displeased, said, “Thank you. Fans are using all sorts of ways to pray for Song Yu’s recovery, hoping he wakes up soon.”

Song Yu buried his face in his paws, his eyes stinging with tears. **How could he tell his fans that he’s okay and will be back soon? They should go home and stop worrying about him.**

The TV sound also caught Fu Yuqian’s attention from the kitchen. When he looked over, he saw Yiyi lying on the sofa, looking incredibly sad. An unbelievable but reasonable thought suddenly crossed his mind.

It was crazy, but it made the most sense.

**It looks like I’ll need to consult a master about Song Yu as well.**

Ever since Fu Yuqian had developed this suspicion, he started paying closer attention to Song Yu’s behavior. But Yiyi was so chubby that it was hard to connect him with the energetic, cute, and flirtatious Song Yu on stage. Yet, once the idea took root, everything began to make sense.

First, Yiyi started acting strangely after Song Yu’s car accident—using a computer, a tablet, and even trying to open doors to run outside. If not for being stopped by the fence, he probably would’ve gone straight to the hospital.

Second, this also explained why last night Yiyi had insisted on following him out, and why he had retaliated when locked up—he wanted to see his own body.

Finally, Yiyi’s sadness when watching the news about Song Yu.

Fu Yuqian took a deep breath, feeling nervous for the first time. **My beloved has turned into the cat I’ve been raising. Could there be any stronger bond of fate?**

Although he wasn’t 100% certain yet, Fu Yuqian was almost convinced.

And this morning, his beloved little cat had even touched him in *that* place.

Fu Yuqian had to take another deep breath.

He controlled his emotions and displayed his culinary skills, allowing the aroma of seafood congee to fill the room. Even Song Yu, distracted from his sadness, turned his head towards the kitchen, curious.

**Hmm, it smells good.**

Song Yu hopped down from the sofa, tail raised, and walked over with the cat-like grace he had become quite accustomed to.

When Fu Yuqian saw Song Yu enter, he squatted down and patted his head. “Yiyi, are you hungry? It’s almost ready.”

His voice was soft and magnetic, almost as if it were laced with sweetness.

Song Yu gave him a suspicious look. **Why is he acting like a cat himself?** His attitude had suddenly shifted—he had been threatening Song Yu before, and now he was being all gentle. **What’s with the 180-degree change?**

Fu Yuqian, always perceptive, quickly adjusted. He stood up, turned off the stove, scooped out a bowl of congee to cool, and then added seasoning. He also fried two eggs in a heart shape, remembering that Song Yu liked runny yolks, and cooked them to perfection.

Fu Yuqian assumed that Song Yu didn’t have Yiyi’s memories, which meant that no matter what he said, as long as he claimed Yiyi had always behaved this way, Song Yu wouldn’t be suspicious.

Once breakfast was ready, Fu Yuqian placed the cooled seafood congee and the soft-boiled eggs in front of Song Yu at the dining table. “Breakfast is ready, Yiyi. Your favorite runny eggs and seafood congee.”

Song Yu didn’t question it and thought to himself, **Wow, Yiyi is practically an angel! He even has the same taste in food as me!**

As soon as Fu Yuqian let go, Song Yu eagerly started eating. With the first bite, his mouth was filled with delicious flavors. The seafood congee was incredibly rich, with the perfect combination of crab roe, scallops, and shrimp. The runny eggs were perfectly cooked, soft and tender.

While eating, Song Yu couldn’t help but think, **With these cooking skills, why isn’t this nemesis of mine working in a Michelin-starred restaurant instead of competing with me in the entertainment industry?**

But since he was enjoying the meal, Song Yu decided to ease some of his resentment towards Fu Yuqian. The hatred he had harbored dropped just a little.

Fu Yuqian felt even more certain—Yiyi never ate eggs, but Song Yu was devouring them, his tail swishing happily.

Fu Yuqian couldn’t resist reaching out to pet him, but Song Yu immediately looked up, meowing a warning. **I’m eating here, stop bothering me!**

Fu Yuqian raised his hands in surrender.

After the meal, Fu Yuqian went into his study, closed the door, and called Liu Le, who answered quickly. “Hey, Qian-ge, what’s up?”

“I need you to help me find a skilled master. Someone with real talent, not just someone with a reputation. Cost isn’t an issue.”

Liu Le hesitated before responding, “Qian-ge, you’re at the top of the industry now. There’s no need to get into that stuff. If Yin-ge finds out, he won’t approve.”

“Just do as I say. Once you find someone, I’ll contact them directly.” Fu Yuqian’s gaze darkened as he remembered something else. “Also, in the next few days, when Yiyi and I aren’t home, arrange for someone to come and remove all the surveillance cameras in the house.” Although the cameras were highly secure, he didn’t want to take any chances. The fact that Song Yu had turned into a cat was something only he knew, and he wasn’t going to tell anyone else.

The more Liu Le listened, the more confused he became. “But what about Yiyi? It won’t be convenient without the cameras.”

Fu Yuqian’s expression softened, his eyes full of affection. “There’s no need for them anymore. Wherever I go, Yiyi will be with me.”

“Understood, I’ll get right on it.” Liu Le had been working as Fu Yuqian’s assistant for three years and knew well that once Fu Yuqian made up his mind, there was no changing it. Even though he was brimming with curiosity, he held it all back.

But not long after, Fu Yuqian received a call from his manager, Yin Lang. “Yu Qian, what’s going on? I heard from Le Le that you’re trying to find a ‘master’? Let me tell you, we can’t get involved with those shady practices. I just landed, and I’m heading to your place now.”

“No need to come over, it’s not convenient for me right now,” Fu Yuqian replied. “I have my reasons for finding someone, but don’t worry, I won’t get into that kind of stuff.”

Even though Fu Yuqian and Yin Lang had a professional relationship, they were as close as brothers. Plus, Fu Yuqian’s agency had shares owned by his older brother, giving him a lot of freedom in his actions. Yin Lang never restricted him too much. “What could be so inconvenient? Besides Yiyi, are you hiding someone else?”

Fu Yuqian chuckled. “Not yet, but soon there will be.”

“Have you finally won over Song Yu? Wait, no, he’s still in the hospital, isn’t he?” Yin Lang asked curiously. “Or have you found someone new?”

“That’s a secret,” Fu Yuqian teased. “By the way, there’s a New Year’s Eve show coming up in about a month. Get me an invite from one of the regional channels. I want to make it up to the fans by appearing at an event.”

“Got it. As long as you know what you’re doing. I’ll take care of the trending topic situation and guide Song Yu’s fans—poor girls, they’re really heartbroken,” Yin Lang said as he ended the call.

Fu Yuqian then turned off the surveillance system and permanently deleted the previous data before heading out the door.

Although the fact that Song Yu had turned into his cat made Fu Yuqian incredibly happy—it felt like a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity—he still wished for Song Yu to recover as soon as possible.

That’s probably what it means to love someone to the extreme.

There were plenty of well-known “masters” in the entertainment industry, so finding one wasn’t difficult. Just two hours later, Liu Le called Fu Yuqian with a lead.

Meanwhile, news broke that Song Yu had been transferred to a different hospital. Coincidentally, it was Sheng’an Hospital, where Ying Qi worked.

Sheng’an was the top-ranked private hospital in Beijing, known for its excellent environment, top-tier medical care, and strong confidentiality. It was famously referred to as the “celebrity clinic,” with many stars choosing to seek treatment there. Song Yu’s transfer to this hospital was well within Fu Yuqian’s expectations.

His mother had also contacted him, confirming that the medical team had been coordinated. They happened to be collaborating on research projects with Sheng’an and would be heading there soon.

Fu Yuqian and Ying Qi had been childhood friends. Ying Qi came from a long line of doctors, and his family owned hospitals around the world. Arranging for a “master” to accompany them to the hospital wasn’t a difficult task for Ying Qi.

Fu Yuqian didn’t fully understand mysticism, but he knew that he might not have much longer to be in close contact with Song Yu. He wasn’t sure if this little ungrateful one would remember how well he treated him.

While holding Song Yu, Fu Yuqian gently squeezed his paw and stroked his fur. Looking at his cute pink nose and little white mouth, Fu Yuqian suddenly leaned down and, taking advantage of Song Yu’s distraction, gave him a quick kiss.

Song Yu was originally enjoying the massage, his cat eyes narrowing in comfort, but when he was suddenly kissed, he froze completely!
