SSEWC Chapter 19

Domineering Alpha CEO

Under the dim yellow light, He Heng was momentarily stunned as he gazed at the Omega’s shy expression and the unmistakable blush on the pointed tips of his ears that no amount of concealment could hide.

Even if he forcibly marked the other person now, what use would it be?

Even if he possessed the person, he couldn’t possess their heart.

Could it be that this was the pain of all dominant alphas?

He never expected that he would actually lose, and to a beta at that.

“Do you really like him this much?” He Heng hesitated for a moment before asking the final question.

How much did he like him?

Shi Shuang seemed to have never considered this question before, so he tilted his head and earnestly looked at the person in front of him.

The Alpha’s originally unruly hairstyle was a bit messy now, with a strand of bangs hanging down on his forehead.

His drunken appearance looked like an irate big cat.

Clearly, the Alpha was just standing in front of him, not doing anything at all, but “thump! thump! thump!” his heart was beating so fast.

For the past twenty years, Shi Shuang has never had feelings for anyone, and He Heng is the first. Therefore, he has no reference point, no prior experience. He has never even spoken to anyone about this kind of feeling.

However, Shi Shuang doesn’t need anyone to tell him this answer because liking someone is something that doesn’t require teaching, judgment, or analysis. It’s an uncontrollable, innate instinct.

While Omega was contemplating, He Heng’s mind had already flashed fifty ways to end that beta, such as:

Throwing him into the Pacific Ocean to feed the sharks,

Dumping him in the Sahara Desert for scorching exposure,

Or parachuting him into the Amazon rainforest for wilderness survival.

As long as Shi Shuang said, “Not that fond” or “It’s just okay”, he wouldn’t mind resorting to some means to get rid of that beta.

However, the next second,

“Really like.”

Shi Shuang’s long lashes trembled slightly, and his eyes were filled with the reflection of the other person.

The words “really like” were like the final straw that broke the camel’s back, shattering all of He Heng’s thoughts.

The previous notions instantly turned into bubbles. He lowered his gaze, laughed somewhat self-deprecatingly, and said, “Understood.”

With just one sentence,

“If you want, I can divorce you.”

When he raised his eyes again, he saw that the person opposite him had reddened eyes.

Shi Shuang couldn’t even comprehend where their conversation had gone wrong because at this moment, his mind was buzzing, unable to think about anything. All that remained was the repetition of the word “divorce”.

Alpha wanted to divorce him.

As if it were his fate, everything and everyone he cared about would eventually leave him, slipping through his fingers.

Yet, He Heng remained completely unaware of Omega’s distress, continuing to speak, “The money from the Shi family, I’ll return it to you. You can take all the properties under my name, including the movable assets.”

At that moment, the long-absent “beep! beep!” warning sound suddenly rang in his mind,

[Warning! Warning! The protagonist’s blackening value is rapidly rising! It has increased from 55 to 70 and is still rising!]

The next moment,

He turned his head and was somewhat stunned, not because of the system’s warning, but because he saw tears streaming down Shi Shuang’s eyes under the warm orange light.

Shi Shuang’s skin was very fair, except for a pair of eyes that were wet and reddened. Omega looked up at He Heng, and his translucent amber eyes seemed utterly lost.

He Heng walked over and gently touched the lower part of Shi Shuang’s eyes with his fingertips, feeling the warmth and dampness.

Looking at Omega’s distressed appearance, He Heng’s heart softened in an instant.

How can he make the other person feel less upset?

No matter how much he thinks about it, he can’t think of anything besides money that he can give to the other person. Then, without much thought, he blurted out,

“If you feel it’s not enough, I can give you more.”

As soon as He Heng said this, it immediately had an effect.

A counter-effect.

Omega’s tears not only didn’t stop, but they became even more intense.

Shi Shuang’s long lashes trembled, and his voice was somewhat hoarse, “I don’t want your money.”

He couldn’t even figure out if He Heng was genuinely foolish or pretending to be.

But how could there be someone so clueless?

I want you, you blockhead.

“Well,” He Heng found no solution to the crying Omega, “let’s not divorce for now.”

The weekend villa seemed a bit desolate.

A table filled with exquisite dishes adorned the spacious dining table. However, the steam that once rose from the dishes had long dissipated. Shi Shuang sat at the table, staring blankly at the array of food, lost in thought.

“Mr. Shi, why don’t you go ahead and eat? Mr. He doesn’t seem like he’ll be back anytime soon,” the butler couldn’t help but offer advice.

The food had been reheated several times already, and it seemed like General He wouldn’t be coming home for dinner today.

Upon hearing this, Shi Shuang hesitated for a moment before saying, “Let’s wait a little longer.”

Alpha had promised to come home today and have dinner together.

With these thoughts, his eyes drooped slightly.

Since their last argument, He Heng’s time at home had become increasingly scarce. It seemed like there were endless meetings, and sometimes, he wouldn’t come home for a meal in an entire week.

Today was Sunday, and when He Heng left in the morning, he had promised to come back early and have dinner together. For this occasion, Shi Shuang had instructed the chef to prepare several dishes that He Heng liked.

At that moment, his phone vibrated — it was a call from He Heng.

Shi Shuang’s eyes lit up as he answered the phone, a smile playing on his lips. There was a faint excitement in his tone, “Have you finished over there? When are you coming back?”

The voice from the other end interrupted Shi Shuang’s words.

“Sorry.”

It was a low, masculine voice.

Those simple words instantly extinguished the enthusiasm Shi Shuang had felt. His long lashes trembled slightly, and his eyes darkened.

He said, “Something came up tonight, and I won’t be able to come back for dinner. Don’t wait for me.”

He Heng returned home, and it was almost eleven o’clock.

He pushed open the front door, but the anticipated figure was nowhere in sight.

This time, it wasn’t Shi Shuang who came to greet him but the butler.

“Mr. He, you’re back?” The butler reached out to take his coat.

“Yeah,” He Heng nodded, but his attention wasn’t on the butler. He absentmindedly looked into the villa, trying to find that familiar figure.

“Mr. He,”

The butler noticed his distracted demeanor,

“Mr. Shi seemed a bit unwell today. He didn’t even have dinner. Initially, he was waiting for you to come back, but after receiving a call, he locked himself in his room and didn’t respond when I knocked.”

“I’ll go check on him.” Hearing this, He Heng furrowed his brow and went straight upstairs.

Walking up to Shi Shuang’s room, he knocked on the door, but there was complete silence inside—no response whatsoever.

He Heng sensed that something was amiss, so he pushed the door open and walked in.

In that moment of entering, he froze.

The dim room had no lights, but the scent of strawberry pheromones in the air was thick, even more intense than during Shi Shuang’s last heat.

The bed was in disarray, and Omega had curled up into a ball under the covers, gripping the bedsheet tightly beneath him. The sheet was crumpled from his grasp, and from the lower left corner of the gray blanket at the bed’s edge, a fair little leg peeked out,

It was particularly conspicuous.

“Hoo~ hoo~”

Under the covers, Shi Shuang breathed heavily, his cheeks displaying a sickly flush.

The moment he saw the Alpha, an uncontrollable sob escaped from the depths of his throat. Immediately, he forcefully bit his lower lip, suppressing any sounds. His fingertips clutched the sheet, and his entire body began to tremble slightly.

Under the dual stimulation of pheromones and sight, He Heng’s breath hitched, almost ceasing his rational thought. Instinctively, he moved toward the edge of the bed.

Observing Omega’s sickly state, it was evident that he was entering his heat cycle. However,

He Heng suddenly realized that it had only been a few days since Shi Shuang’s last heat. Even if his heat cycles were irregular, it was impossible for them to occur twice in such a short span.

So, what was going on?

At that moment, a “crack!” sounded,

He unexpectedly stepped on an object that had rolled onto the floor.

Bending down to pick it up, He Heng discovered it was an empty syringe, still containing traces of a clear liquid.

His lips were tightly pressed together, jawline tense, and the veins on his clenched arm bulged. He Heng desperately suppressed the primal urge, asking 996 in his mind, ‘What is this?’

996: [Some injection that can advance and forcibly induce the heat cycle in an Omega.]

Shi Shuang took a drug to force his heat cycle?

Why would he do such a thing?

He Heng’s lowered lashes swept over his half-closed eyes, the expression in his eyes murky and unclear. He felt his blood boiling throughout his body, and his mind went blank.

The other seemed like a foolish little lamb, willingly entering the wolf’s den, thinking it wasn’t obvious enough. It kept “baa-baa” calling, almost willingly presenting itself under the big bad wolf’s nose.

In that moment, a certain string in his mind seemed to completely snap. The primal instinct overwhelmed everything.

Unable to bear it any longer, He Heng walked over and grabbed the delicate ankle of the person in the bed, pulling him into his arms.

A rich scent of Omega pheromones hit him, and the sweet, lingering strawberry fragrance almost filled the entire room.

Omega’s pheromones continued to stimulate his brain and nerves, making He Heng feel unable to stay calm and think rationally. He lowered his brows, and a dangerous look appeared in his deep eyes.

Shi Shuang felt the person behind him, like a coiled leopard ready to strike, imprisoning him in his embrace. The highly aggressive Alpha pheromones overwhelmed him, making it almost difficult to breathe.

He shrank slightly in the other’s arms, emitting a soft whimper, which only further ignited the Alpha’s desire to dominate.

The next moment,

“Uh!”

He Heng’s sharp canine teeth pressed against the tender gland at the back of Omega’s neck. His gaze swept over the dim room, and with a hint of teeth-clenched anger, he questioned in a low voice near Shi Shuang’s ear:

“Why would you do this?”
