WCG Chapter 13

Did my silly nephew's dream come true?

Jiang Shi’s attention was focused on the stairs, so when Xie Xu pressed his shoulder, he was still a bit dazed until he heard the words “Crayon Shin-chan.”

The red boxer briefs with the cartoon character pattern on his butt flashed through his mind.

Jiang Shi slowly and stiffly looked down and saw Xie Xu’s beautiful hand adjusting his pajama pants to cover the red edge.

As he withdrew his hand, the elastic waistband made a faint pop sound.

Jiang Shi’s smile slowly faded.

When Jiang Shi was searching for Xie Xu’s handsome photos last night, he had specifically collected close-ups of Xie Xu’s hands, all of which suited his taste to a T.

He had thought that these hands could do many things—

But helping him pull up his pants to cover his big red underwear was not one of them.

🙂

This social death incident left Jiang Shi so unsettled during the team uniform fitting that he felt like a puppet being manipulated by the tailor.

The rest of the team had finished their fittings and were eating breakfast nearby.

Jiang Lele, half-asleep, leaned on Yu Hui’s shoulder, a bun in his mouth, and mumbled, “Little White Hair is really skinny…. his  waist measurement is even smaller than my thigh.”

Jiang Shi usually wore loose clothes, and today he had hurriedly put on a thin pajamas, making his slender figure fully visible.

Jiang Lele became more confident and flexed his arm muscle in front of Yu Hui, “I must have been blinded by his hair color! Such a skinny Little White Hair can’t withstand one punch from me!”

Just as he finished speaking, a chair was pulled away, and Jiang Lele met Jiang Shi’s gaze, who was standing next to him, eyes lowered.

Jiang Shi looked at him, “Who are you going to punch?”

Jiang Lele immediately closed his mouth but silently screamed inside, ‘Why am I so scared of this Little White Hair!!!’

Jiang Shi was about to say something when Yuan Yang’s voice came from the entrance, “Who can lend a hand?”

Yuan Yang was struggling to carry a huge cardboard box and bumped the door open with his shoulder.

Jiang Shi, being the closest, quickly stepped forward.

Yuan Yang was about to ask for help but saw Jiang Shi directly grab the box with both hands, turning sideways to ask, “Yang-ge, where should I put it?”

He spoke easily, not even his breath was disordered.

“Any empty spot in the living room will do. These are the team uniforms for winter. I’ll check everyone’s measurements, and if there’s no problem, we’ll distribute them.”

Jiang Shi was measuring for new uniforms, while the others were just checking the fit of the existing ones. If there were any changes in height or weight, the clothes could be adjusted.

Yuan Yang watched as Jiang Shi easily placed the box on the ground and couldn’t help but exclaim, “Xiao Shi, you’re really strong.”

The box contained 18 winter outfits for the starting and second team members, two pieces per person, packed tightly. It felt like his waist was about to break when Yuan Yang carried it, but Jiang Shi didn’t even change his expression.

Jiang Shi brushed the dust off his hands, “It’s okay.”

He had gotten used to carrying heavy objects for a while, so this wasn’t too heavy for him.

He looked up and met Jiang Lele’s shocked gaze.

Jiang Shi smirked, clenched his fist, and threw a punch into the air.

Jiang Lele quickly received Jiang Shi’s signal—

“I can beat someone like you with just one punch.”

Jiang Lele immediately turned to Xie Xu to complain, “Captain, Jiang Shi is threatening me!”

Here, only Xie Xu could handle Jiang Shi.

Xie Xu looked away from Weibo, lifted his eyes, and saw Jiang Shi standing obediently next to Yuan Yang, even thoughtfully handing him wet wipes to clean his hands.

Yu Hui, unable to watch any longer, pulled Jiang Lele’s collar and shoved another bun into his mouth, “Be quiet and eat your breakfast.”

Jiang Shi also prepared to find a seat to eat but was interrupted by Xie Xu.

“There are wontons here.”

Xie Xu handed a sealed bowl of wontons to the empty seat next to him, “Come over and eat, or they’ll get cold.”

Jiang Shi looked at the seat next to Xie Xu and hesitated for a moment.

He hadn’t yet recovered from the earlier Crayon Shin-chan incident…

Yuan Yang, not knowing about their morning events, thought Jiang Shi was still offering help and said with a smile, “I’ll sort out the sizes myself later, you just enjoy your meal.”

Jiang Shi had no room to refuse and could only sit beside Xie Xu, curling up his limbs.

But as soon as Jiang Shi tasted the wontons, the embarrassment in his heart quickly dissipated.

The wonton skin was thin, and the filling was generous and delicious. He almost bit his tongue on the first bite.

He loved wontons the most.

Jiang Shi wanted to add some chili but had just raised his hand when Xie Xu placed the dipping sauce tray in front of him.

Xie Xu looked at Jiang Shi’s puffed cheeks and reminded, “Eat slowly.”

Jiang Shi mumbled an “Mm” and indeed slowed down his eating speed.

Yuan Yang was looking at the sizes sent by the tailor and frowned when he saw Jiang Shi’s measurements, “Jiang Shi, you’re 175 cm tall and only 109 jin?”

His weight was so light?

Jiang Lele’s focus, however, was on: “Little White Hair is 5 cm taller than me?”

He then questioned Jiang Shi’s shoes but only saw a pair of flat pink bear slippers.

Yu Hui looked at Jiang Lele’s disbelieving expression and said coolly, “Let me correct something. The height you just measured was 169 cm.”

Zhao Jiu also laughed. “I remember when we measured for summer clothes last time, Lele was also this height, saying he’d definitely hit 170 cm or more.”

And yet, half a year later, there was no change.

Jiang Lele was deeply disheartened, “Wuwu, I don’t want to live anymore…”

Yuan Yang ignored the commotion and looked at Jiang Shi, “Do you want Auntie to prepare a special nutrition meal for you?”

Jiang Shi swallowed a wonton and immediately shook his head, “No need, the current meals are fine. I just had bad living habits before.”

Sometimes he would be lazy and eat instant noodles for a whole week, combined with irregular hours as a game streamer, so he didn’t gain weight.

Before coming to the base, his weight had hovered around 105 jin.

Seeing Yuan Yang’s disbelief, Jiang Shi swore, “Really, I’ve been eating two bowls of rice per meal recently.”

“I can vouch for that,” Zhao Jiu said with a smile, “He eats even more than I do.”

When serving the rice, it was piled high.

Yuan Yang finally relented, “Alright, the team uniforms should be fine with these sizes. Jiang Shi, I’ll have your new uniforms made based on this data.”

He was about to confirm with the tailor when Xie Xu spoke up, “Make the uniforms a bit larger for him.”

Jiang Shi had just turned 19, and if his nutrition improves, he might grow taller.

Yuan Yang: “You’re considerate as always.”

Jiang Shi had no objections to Xie Xu’s words.

When he finished the wontons in his bowl and looked up, he saw one more wonton in Xie Xu’s bowl, with the translucent skin barely containing the filling.

Jiang Shi, unable to control his hunger, swallowed his saliva and asked, “Captain, aren’t you going to eat that?”

“I’m full,” Xie Xu said, then paused, “Do you want it?”

Jiang Shi immediately nodded and was about to use his bowl to take it, but Xie Xu used chopsticks to pick up the wonton and held it to Jiang Shi’s mouth.

Jiang Shi instinctively opened his mouth to receive it.

But when he realized what was happening, his face turned bright red.

Even though he knew Xie Xu was probably just doing it casually, his heart was still pounding hard.

Were these Xie Xu’s used chopsticks? Was this considered an indirect kiss?

But the next second, Xie Xu broke his fantasy, “I’m using new chopsticks.”

“And—” Xie Xu chuckled, “Jiang Shi, don’t bite.”

Jiang Shi realized he was biting the chopsticks, making it hard for Xie Xu to withdraw his hand.

His face flushed as he released the chopsticks and, to cover his embarrassment, took a big gulp of soup.

But the next moment, Jiang Lele’s words almost made him spit out the soup.

“Captain, did Time just express his affection under your Weibo?”

Jiang Lele, who was quick on the internet, handed his phone to Xie Xu.

Sitting between them, Jiang Shi clearly saw Jiang Lele’s screen as the phone passed by.

#My husband is so handsome it makes my legs weak#

#There’s a streamer named Time who wants to sleep with you#

The chopsticks in Jiang Shi’s hand made a fragile creaking sound.

He had clearly deleted that Weibo post — who had taken a screenshot for Jiang Lele?!

Jiang Lele noticed the sorry state of Jiang Shi’s chopsticks, looked up slowly, and after seeing his face, exclaimed, “Why does your face look like a monkey’s butt?”

Jiang Shi’s skin was already pale, and when he blushed, it was very noticeable, further highlighted by his striking white hair — truly a spectacle.

Jiang Shi wiped the soup from the corner of his mouth and said, “You’re the monkey.”

If he could kill his teammates, Jiang Lele would definitely not live to see tomorrow.

Jiang Lele was terrified, but his gossipy heart suppressed his discomfort. He looked at Xie Xu, asking, ““I heard Time posted a bunch of your photos last night and used many obscene emojis!”

Xie Xu moved the dipping sauce that almost got knocked over by Jiang Lele and replied, “Mn.”

That “Mn” made both Jiang Lele and Jiang Shi turn to look at him.

Jiang Lele was incredibly shocked, “You know about this?”

Jiang Shi was equally shocked.

What was so obscene about those emojis?

Jiang Lele flipped through his private messages on Weibo, “They all told me to protect you and not let any perverts get close, and also to unfollow that mistaken account…”

“Ah? Captain, you followed Time?”

He blurted out, “Did my silly nephew’s dream come true?”

As soon as the words left his mouth, he received a cold glare.

‘This little winter melon even raised his generation for himself.’ Jiang Shi grumbled in his heart.

Jiang Lele couldn’t take it anymore and weakly asked Jiang Shi, “What’s wrong with you?”

Jiang Shi looked like he wanted to kill him with his eyes.

He threw away the chopsticks that had split into two and smiled, “It’s nothing, I’m just very interested in the gossip you’re talking about.”

Jiang Lele’s eyes instantly lit up, “Really? I’m curious too!”

“So, Captain, why did you follow Time? Was it a mistake?”

Jiang Shi lowered his head and pretended to play with his fingers while actually listening intently.

Zhao Jiu, who was next to Xie Xu, smiled and pointed at Xie Xu’s phone on the table, “Don’t you guys notice? Captain has been scrolling through Weibo. I saw him looking at Time’s profile for quite a while, it definitely wasn’t a mistake.”

Jiang Lele stretched his neck and saw that Xie Xu had stopped looking at Time and was now on his own Weibo comment section.

[Time’s Beautiful Auntie: Xu, there’s a streamer named Time who wants to sleep with you, hope you can give him a chance. (kowtow)]

There were many kowtowing emojis below.

Time was also among them.

Jiang Lele joked, “Captain, surely it’s not because he’s kowtowing to you, right?”

Xie Xu looked at Jiang Shi’s slightly turned head and paused before replying, “Maybe?”

“He seems quite cute.”

Jiang Shi looked up in confusion.

Cute?

The emoji, or him?
