WCG Chapter 21.2

'Your Father Jiang' wasn't you? (Part 2)

I feel bad to make you wait two weeks for one (1) full chapter, so there will be two uploads per updates. This is the first one~

At 8 PM, after Jiang Lele took yet another cannon minion that Jiang Shi had been eyeing, the sound of keys clattering came from beside him again.

His heart skipped a beat as he nervously stared at the chatbox on the game screen.

[Team Chat] Don’t Look For Abuse: It’s okay, play well, we’ll definitely win this one! Your Nuka has improved a lot!

Jiang Lele looked at the message, almost unable to believe his eyes. He even started to wonder if this was Jiang Shi’s way of being sarcastic.

Just as he was about to say something, Yuan Yang’s cheerful voice came from behind him. “Are you two duo-queuing? Did your teammate just compliment your Nuka? Let me see.”

The moment he finished speaking, Jiang Lele, under the eyes of everyone, mistakenly Flashed in place.

Jiang Shi: “…”

Yuan Yang: “…”

Jiang Lele scratched his head, hurriedly turned off his stream’s mic, and explained in a panic, “I clicked the wrong button.”

He had been so focused on the game that he hadn’t noticed when the training room door opened.

Jiang Shi, who was truly a dog, turned into the perfect good boy the moment Xie Xu returned.

Jiang Lele’s camera partially faced the training room door, so not only Yuan Yang but also Xie Xu briefly appeared on screen.

[Aaaah! I knew I’d catch a glimpse of my husband on Jiang Lele’s stream!]

[My husband  looks so handsome today, did he put on makeup?]

[So dashing!]

[Husband! Look at me!]

Even Jiang Shi, sitting beside Jiang Lele, noticed the flood of “husband” comments on the screen.

Did Xie Xu really come back wearing makeup?

Jiang Shi teleported back to base under the defense tower, swallowed the bread he was munching on, wiped the crumbs from his mouth, and casually turned around, planning to greet Xie Xu and Yuan Yang.

“Cap—”

But just as the first word left his mouth, he saw Xie Xu’s face, and all the words that followed got stuck in his throat.

Xie Xu’s makeup was subtle, with just enough shadow to enhance his features. The hair on his forehead was pushed back, revealing his smooth forehead. He looked sharp and handsome, exuding an aloof and refined aura—

A stark contrast to his usual gentle and laid-back demeanor.

Jiang Shi knew his gaze was too obvious, but he couldn’t look away. His heart pounded in his chest, and as he locked eyes with Xie Xu, he shamefully swallowed hard.

Then, Jiang Shi’s vision went dark as his head was playfully ruffled, blocking his view.

“The makeup artists were busy, so I didn’t want to wait,” Xie Xu explained. “I’m going to remove my makeup and take a shower. You guys have fun.”

With that, he left the training room.

[Why did Husband leave so quickly!]

[Xu must’ve gone to shoot a commercial for TKI, right? I remember seeing some teasers from the official account.]

[Is it the keyboard one? The one that was delayed earlier and was supposed to be endorsed by TLG’s support?]

[No, it’s headphones. Xu’s endorsement was just recently announced.]

Jiang Lele was curious too. “I hadn’t heard that the captain had any endorsements recently.”

Seeing that Jiang Shi was also looking at him, Yuan Yang smiled and said, “That’s because Xie Xu wanted to delay the keyboard endorsement, and TKI requested the headphone endorsement as a condition.”

After An left, Xie Xu clearly intended to give the keyboard endorsement to the newly recruited Jiang Shi. Now, they were just waiting for the team to officially announce Jiang Shi, and once he gained some popularity, they’d take him to shoot the keyboard ad.

Yuan Yang didn’t say the last part out loud, but everyone could guess it.

Jiang Lele thought for a moment. “That new silver-pink keyboard actually suits the Little White Hair’s style.”

Dark yet sweet.

The fans in Jiang Lele’s livestream, unable to hear anything because the mic was off, were losing their minds.

[What are you guys talking about? TLG’s new AD?]

[Wait, why did my husband leave? He just got here!]

[Am I the only one wondering what Xu was doing just now? The AD position is right next to Jiang Lele, right? Could the new AD already be at the base, training with them?]

[If it’s the new AD, did Xie Xu just ruffle the AD hair? Or was it their face?]

[……]

[You guys are being ridiculous. Can’t Xu just be tired and resting his hand on the chair?]

Xie Xu’s brief appearance and a simple action had sent Jiang Lele’s livestream into a frenzy.

Yuan Yang noticed and smiled. “Alright, you’ve streamed long enough today. Time to wrap it up!”

Last time, the Lions helped promote the stream, and with today’s duo-queue, many viewers were asking about TLG’s new AD on the official team account, achieving the effect Yuan Yang wanted.

Now, they just needed the right moment for an official announcement and a livestream.

Jiang Lele, not knowing how to explain the situation, quickly wrapped up the stream as Yuan Yang suggested.

Once the stream was off, Jiang Shi felt much more at ease. He even took the opportunity to ask Yuan Yang, “Yang-ge, I’m feeling a bit tired from all the matches today. I’d like to rest early.”

He had already posted a livestream announcement on Little Bear TV using Time’s account, scheduled to start in half an hour.

“Sure, sure, get some rest,” Yuan Yang replied, not suspecting anything.

He wasn’t a fan of Jiang Shi’s current schedule — getting up early and staying up late. The kid was still growing and didn’t need to be worn out by training.

When Xie Xu returned from his shower, Jiang Shi was packing up his desk, ready to make his exit.

Jiang Shi frowned as he looked at Xie Xu’s thin black sweater. “Captain, you’re wearing too little again.”

Every time Xie Xu came out of the shower, he wore so little that it was really—

Hard to resist!!!

He looked at Xie Xu’s damp hair tips and the lightened mole at the corner of his eye, feeling as if his feet were nailed to the ground.

This version of Xie Xu was truly delicious!

Just moments ago, he was the dominant and imposing husband figure, and now he was a refined and gentle gentleman.

‘Maybe I should just cancel the livestream?’

At that moment, the training room door was pushed open, and Zhao Jiu came in holding five cups of milk tea. “The milk tea the captain ordered is here!”

Xie Xu often ordered afternoon tea or late-night snacks for everyone, and today was no different. He had placed an order as soon as he arrived at the base.

Zhao Jiu, with his hands full, couldn’t close the door, so Jiang Shi stepped up to shut it.

Yuan Yang had ordered that the windows in the hallway shouldn’t be closed, making it chilly outside the training room.

Seeing Xie Xu putting on the team uniform, Zhao Jiu quickly understood the situation and teased, “Captain, why are you still trying to look cool for Xiao Shi? Even the kids don’t prioritize style over warmth like you.”

“It’s not about style,” Xie Xu said as he placed the milk tea on the table. “It’s just that I’m not used to it.”

He usually showered before bed, but on the rare occasions when he didn’t, Jiang Shi always seemed to catch him.

Once again, Jiang Shi felt puzzled.

What exactly is Xie Xu not used to?

Before his mind could go into the gutter, Jiang Shi’s alarm went off.

There were only five minutes left before he had to start his livestream.

Xie Xu noticed him fumbling to turn off the alarm and asked, “Got something to do?”

“No,” Jiang Shi forced a few tears to the corners of his eyes, pretending to be extremely tired. “Captain, I’m really sleepy. I’m going to bed early.”

Zhao Jiu1the og text said that speaker is Yuan Yang, but that can’t be correct, so I changed it to Zhao Jiu, fearing Xie Xu might think Jiang Shi was slacking off, chimed in to explain, “Xiao Shi’s been waking up early lately, and today, Lele was misbehaving, playing around too much in-game. Xiao Shi probably got worn out, so Yang-ge suggested he rest early.”

Jiang Shi nodded repeatedly.

The innocent Jiang Lele slowly formed a question mark in his mind.

After handing out the milk tea, Yuan Yang looked at Jiang Shi. “But the captain also ordered KFC. It should arrive in about ten minutes. You’re not eating?”

Jiang Shi quietly stuffed the unfinished bread on the table into his pocket, tightly gripping his milk tea, and said, “I’m not hungry.”

As he spoke, his eyes darted toward the door, looking anxious to leave.

Xie Xu, who was in the middle of zipping up his team uniform, saw this and simply let go. “Alright, go ahead and rest.”

Upon hearing this, Jiang Shi bolted out the door.

He was going to be late!

Yuan Yang sighed. “Such a hasty temperament.”

Xie Xu watched Jiang Shi’s hurried departure, his expression calm.

At that moment, a notification popped up on his phone, which was on the table.

[Little Bear TV: The streamer Time you followed has posted a live announcement. Come check it out~]
