T/N: I think it’s because this is the first series I picked up from the start (no prior tl work from others), so it’s the first time I saw a series getting rating-bombed by 1 stars until the final rating went quite low… 🙁
I heard it’s done by those homophobic guys too, solely bc it’s BL…
anyhow, if you like reading this series, please give a good rating/review on the series’ novelupdates page! >Link<
When Xie Xu pulled Jiang Shi’s chair closer, the two armrests lightly bumped against each other. Coupled with Xie Xu’s similarly lowered tone, Jiang Shi’s earlier actions suddenly seemed less ridiculous. However, the close proximity made Jiang Shi feel a bit uneasy. When Xie Xu turned his head to speak, Jiang Shi could even feel a faint breath brush against his cheek.
Jiang Shi’s heart began to race.
He wasn’t even this nervous when he saw all the question marks in Xie Xu’s livestream chat earlier.
Jiang Shi quickly pushed off the ground with his feet, sliding his chair back with a sharp motion. “Then I’ll take you to get the blue buff.”
Jiang Shi thought his tone was natural, but the stream’s viewers weren’t so easily fooled.
[Getting the blue buff is one thing, but what’s with that robotic movement?]
[Did his voice just shake a little?]
[Guys, AD Baby just showed up on camera — his hair is white, and he looks pretty handsome.]
[That hair color really depends on your skin tone and face shape. If it doesn’t work out, it’ll look like an old person walking down the street.]
[I don’t know about the hair, but I do know that this AD Baby’s red ears were impossible to hide under that hair.]
[I saw it too! His ears are practically bleeding red.]
Seeing the chat, Xie Xu asked Jiang Shi, “They’re asking why your ears are so red.”
“Ah?”
Jiang Shi had his phone open to Little Bear TV on the desk and was about to secretly reply to the viewers with an alt account, saying it wasn’t white hair but gray. Before he could finish typing, he heard Xie Xu’s question.
He glanced at the chat again, uncertain.
No one’s asking that!
Jiang Shi prided himself on his good eyesight. During his own live streams, fans often praised him for being able to catch even the most obscure comments and reply to them. However, it was possible he missed it due to the fast pace of the chat in Xie Xu’s stream.
Jiang Shi obviously couldn’t admit that his ears turned red from listening to Xie Xu, so he played dumb, saying, “Maybe the air conditioning is set too high?”
The base’s air conditioning was always on, especially in the training room. When the weather turned cold, Yuan Yang would turn it on an hour early to prevent the players from having cold hands and stiff movements.
Now, the windows of the training room were already fogged up.
Jiang Shi felt his explanation was flawless.
But, while he could fool the audience, he couldn’t deceive the nosy Jiang Lele. “You clearly only blushed after getting close to the captain!”
Jiang Shi: “…”
He turned to Jiang Lele. “Next time we’re both free, let’s duo queue sometime to rank up.”
Jiang Lele quickly recalled the painful experience of being roasted during his own live stream and immediately changed his tune, “I must have been mistaken — you’re probably just too hot from wearing too many layers!”
There’s some truth in what he said.
Jiang Shi, worried that Yuan Yang wouldn’t let him wear Xie Xu’s team jacket, had layered it over a sweatshirt, making him look quite bulky.
Luckily, Xie Xu didn’t press further about the ear-blushing situation. After the match ended and they said goodbye to Lion’s Juzi, Xie Xu and Jiang Shi exited the results screen.
Jiang Shi was about to hit start, but Xie Xu stopped him. “Wait a minute.”
“Change your clothes.”
Jiang Shi quickly zipped up the team jacket. “I’m not hot.”
Xie Xu looked at the sweat-dampened strands of hair on Jiang Shi’s forehead, a bit exasperated. “I didn’t say you couldn’t wear the team jacket. You can take off the sweatshirt.”
Xie Xu was about to suggest that Jiang Shi go up to the third-floor bedroom to change, but Jiang Shi promptly stood up, took off the jacket, and draped it over the back of his chair. Then, he grabbed the hem of his sweatshirt and pulled it over his head.
Jiang Shi didn’t think much about changing clothes and didn’t notice that half of his body was in the camera’s view.
As the sweatshirt lifted, the tank top underneath rode up, exposing a slim and flexible waist, which appeared strikingly pale under the overhead fluorescent light.
Xie Xu’s eyelid twitched as he quickly covered the camera with one hand while tugging Jiang Shi’s black tank top back down with the other, soon concealing the exposed skin.
Jiang Shi’s head popped out of the sweatshirt’s collar. Noticing Xie Xu’s actions he gratefully thanked the captain.
Xie Xu withdrew his hand and gripped his mouse, but his index finger hesitated to click.
When he pulled Jiang Shi’s clothes earlier, his hand had accidentally touched Jiang Shi’s skin.
The skin was slightly damp with a thin layer of sweat, soft and warm—completely different from the cold, hard feel of the mouse.
However, Xie Xu’s hand was cold, and when he touched Jiang Shi, Jiang Shi instinctively retracted his waist. Xie Xu immediately pulled his hand back.
The viewers were not pleased with Xie Xu covering the camera.
[Why won’t you let us see? I could only hear the sound of clothes rustling.]
[What’s the big deal about a guy changing clothes? (But the AD’s waist is really thin, hehe.)]
[Not just thin, also pale and really pretty.]
[If I hadn’t heard the AD Baby speak, I would’ve thought a woman had walked into TLG’s training room.]
[Enough with that — remember when he promised to show leg hair while duo-queuing with Lele last time?]
[Hahaha, I totally forgot about that!]
[But isn’t the AD wearing Xu’s team jacket? The TLG captain’s jacket has gold thread on the cuffs, it’s pretty obvious.]
[The sleeves are rolled up too, like a kid wearing an adult’s clothes.]
[When is our cute little AD going to start streaming? Gege will gift you something~]
Xie Xu’s gaze darkened when he saw the last comment in the chat. Without hesitation, he muted the person and kicked them out of the stream.
Jiang Shi quickly slipped his jacket back on, zipped it up, and rolled up the sleeves to a comfortable height before sitting back down in his chair, looking relaxed. Only then did Xie Xu remove his hand from the camera.
The two continued to duo queue late into the night, and after that, Jiang Shi played solo.
Since he had left early yesterday, Jiang Shi planned to practice longer today, and soon, he was the only one left in the training room.
With everyone gone, the large training room felt empty. Jiang Shi lowered his head and pulled the cuffs of the team jacket down to cover his hands. The quality of the TLG team jacket was excellent—not only warm and comfortable but also stylish. The placement of the sponsor logos had been carefully designed, making the jacket not only not ugly but also unique.
Jiang Shi tugged at the collar of the jacket, trying to figure out what material it was made of. But instead of identifying the fabric, he caught a stronger whiff of a citrus scent.
It smelled really nice.
Having played games all day, Jiang Shi’s mind was groggy, but this pleasant scent made him feel a bit more alert.
Taking advantage of the fact that no one was around, Jiang Shi lowered his head closer.
But just then, the door to the training room clicked open behind him.
Jiang Shi looked up, locking eyes with the wide-eyed Jiang Lele.
“You…”
Jiang Lele struggled to find the words to describe what he had just seen—Jiang Shi burying his head in Xie Xu’s team jacket and sniffing it like a pervert.
A vein throbbed on Jiang Shi’s forehead as he released the collar and said, expressionless, “If you dare tell anyone, I’ll kill you.”
Jiang Lele immediately made a zipping motion over his mouth but couldn’t resist asking, “So, are you one of the captain’s perverted fanatic fans?”
How does Xie Xu attract so many perverts! First, there was Time, and now Jiang Shi.
