WCG Chapter 28.1

Those who don’t might think he’s talking to his husband! (Part 1)

After Jiang Shi posted on Weibo and glanced at the comments, his mind went blank.

[23L: Stupid streamer who said he quitted Internet, get lost.]

[24L: Who was the one swearing last night that it was their last stream? And tricked me into sending gifts? Spit out the free hearts I sent you!]

[26L: We almost blew up TLG’s official Weibo, and now you just shamelessly announce you’re officially a TLG pro player? I might not care about my reputation, but you should at least care about yours!]

[27L: The hashtag about TLG bullying a small-time streamer nearly trended, and then we turn around to find out this little idiot walked into the thief’s den without saying a word, haha.]

[28L: TLG’s base is near my house. I’m going there tonight to give this kid a beating!]

[29L: I’m not far either. Let’s go together!]

[30L: Keep us posted! Don’t forget to take pictures!]

Jiang Shi: “…”

He had never seen such violent fans before.

Nevertheless, Jiang Shi immediately went downstairs and took a stroll around to ensure the security wouldn’t let any strangers in and that the main building’s doors were solid. Only then did he leisurely head to the training room, even taking time to chat with his fans.

[Time: Come on.]

[Time: Believe me, I’ll knock you all out with one punch.]

[52L: Damn, this little idiot not only refuses to repent but is also this arrogant?]

[53L: Looks like he’s sweet-talked TLG. Is there someone backing him up?]

[55L: Even if others let it slide, you think Xu will let him off easy? He’s definitely going to be bullied later, and this kid is still grinning like an idiot.]

[56L: Isn’t he doing a face reveal stream on Saturday night? I can’t wait to see what this idiot looks like.]

[57L: Now that you mention it, even if we can’t crash TLG, we can definitely crash your livestream. Just wait and see!]

Jiang Shi winced. Was this really necessary? What kind of deep-seated hatred was this!

Rolling up his sleeves, he casually found a chair in the living room and sat down. After walking around, his waist and knees, where he had bumped into something earlier, were starting to hurt.

Jiang Shi rubbed them a bit and was about to continue his battle with the fans when he heard someone upstairs calling his name.

“Jiang Shi.”

He instantly recognized Xie Xu’s voice and stood up immediately, shoving his phone into his pocket and looking up at the person on the first floor. “Here!”

Xie Xu glanced down at Jiang Shi, who looked like he was awaiting orders, with a hint of a smile in his eyes. “Stop playing around. Come to practice.”

Jiang Shi had to set aside his personal grudges and followed him to the training room. Just as he sat down and was about to turn on his computer, he noticed a bottle of Yunnan Baiyao on the table.

Xie Xu said, “You bumped into something earlier, right? This will help with the bruising.”

He had noticed Jiang Shi’s slightly awkward walking posture earlier.

Jiang Shi grabbed the bottle and shook it vigorously before yanking up his pants leg and spraying it directly onto his knee.

“Ugh,” Jiang Lele grimaced, covering his nose. “Little White Hair, could you go easy on that? This stuff stinks.”

Jiang Shi was wearing loose-fitting jeans, and since he was quite slim, he easily rolled them up, revealing his right knee, which was marred with a rather nasty-looking purplish bruise.

But Jiang Shi didn’t care and just kept spraying the Yunnan Baiyao on it.

Jiang Lele clicked his tongue at the sight. “Why are you so pale? You look like a girl.”

Jiang Shi was naturally fair-skinned, and his legs, which rarely saw the sun, looked delicate and almost pretty.

However, in the next second, this delicate-looking leg kicked Jiang Lele’s chair.

Jiang Shi, holding the Yunnan Baiyao spray nozzle, pointed it at Jiang Lele with a friendly smile. “What were you saying? I didn’t catch that.”

Jiang Lele’s tune changed immediately. “T Bao, does your knee still hurt? Let me blow on it for you.”

Jiang Shi rolled his eyes at him and put his leg down. “Don’t be gross.”

Zhao Jiu opened the window in the training room. “Xiao  Shi must’ve gotten quite a bump earlier. Let him spray a bit more, the smell will fade soon.”

“Oh, right. Did you bump your waist too?”

Jiang Shi nodded, unzipped his team jacket, and grabbed the hem of his sweater underneath, ready to lift it. But before he could, his wrist was grabbed.

Xie Xu stopped Jiang Shi from exposing his waist in the training room. “Go to the restroom outside.”

Jiang Shi thought Xie Xu disliked the smell, so he immediately stood up and went outside to apply the medicine.

As soon as he came back, he heard Jiang Lele shout, “Fuck, Jiang Shi is trending!”

Jiang Shi’s heart skipped a beat as he rushed to grab his phone from the table.

At the very bottom of the trending list, there was a tag related to him:

#TLG’s New AD Time#

The title was plain and unremarkable. If it weren’t for today’s events, Jiang Shi would’ve thought TLG had bought the trending spot for him.

He clicked on the tag, and the top post was TLG’s official announcement of his signing. However, the comments below had already changed drastically.

[I heard that TLG’s new AD is that streamer Time who boasted about being close to Xu. Is that true?]

[It’s true! See the purple diamond badge I have for Time? Convincing enough?]

[Wow, if even a die-hard fan says so, then it must be true. What was TLG thinking?]

I don’t know what TLG was thinking, but I’m sure Time joined TLG just to get close to Xu.]

[Time might even livestream kissing Xu!]

[For real? Is TLG that wild?]

[To find out what happens next, tune into TLG-Time’s livestream this Saturday at 8 PM~]

Jiang Shi: “…”

His fans were enthusiastically answering questions under TLG’s official Weibo, almost revealing every detail about him. Among the popular comments, there was one that stood out:

[TLG is bullying Time, forcing him to quit streaming. If they don’t give a proper explanation, this won’t end well!]

Many of Jiang Shi’s fans screenshotted this comment along with others asking if Time was really TLG’s new AD and sent them to him, with a smiley face emoji attached. Jiang Shi felt so guilty that he didn’t even dare to reply.

“Tsk, Little White Hair, your fans are seriously powerful,” Jiang Lele was shocked. “They even got you trending.”

Zhao Jiu asked, “Should we tell Yang-ge to take the trend down?”

“He knows,” Xie Xu was also checking Weibo. “There’s nothing negative in the comments, so we can leave it be.”

Jiang Shi’s fans were indeed disgruntled, but it was clear they were waiting for his livestream to settle the score.

Meanwhile, the casual onlookers were just there for the drama, which actually boosted the anticipation for Jiang Shi’s upcoming stream to the highest level.

This was evident from his Weibo follower count, which skyrocketed from ten thousand to a hundred thousand in less than a day, with no sign of slowing down.

The group chatted a bit more, and Jiang Shi, who had been trying to stay low-key, began to relax, thinking that no one had seen those outrageous remarks.

But it seemed that even God was against him. Just as he breathed a sigh of relief, Jiang Lele suddenly burst out laughing.

He didn’t know what he had seen, but he clutched his stomach, laughing uncontrollably. “Captain, they’re saying that Little White Hair is going to kiss you on his livestream, hahaha, I’m dying of laughter!”

Jiang Shi squeezed his eyes shut in frustration, cursing a thousand times over in his heart.

Would Jiang Lele die if he just kept his mouth shut!

But there was nothing Jiang Shi could do, so he quickly tried to explain, speaking at lightning speed, “Captain, I definitely won’t kiss you, don’t be mad.”

No sooner had the words left his mouth than the other two in the room couldn’t hold back their laughter.

Realizing what he had just said, Jiang Shi wished he could bite his tongue off. He could just die of stupidity!

Taking a deep breath, he tried again, “What I meant was, I wouldn’t kiss you during a livestream—”

Jiang Lele seized the opportunity, “So you’d kiss him in secret?”

“No…” Jiang Shi felt like whatever he said would just make it worse, his tongue was getting tied up, so he gave up entirely, “Captain, I was wrong.”

Xie Xu caught a glimpse of Jiang Shi’s bright red ears out of the corner of his eye and smiled faintly. He responded with a simple “Mm.”

Because of the “kissing” incident, Jiang Shi didn’t dare to look at Xie Xu for the rest of the day, even turning down Xie Xu’s invitation to duo queue, using the excuse of needing to grind in the Colosseum.

He threw himself into his games, playing like a man possessed. After finishing a match, he stretched, rubbed his neck, and looked out the window at the darkening sky. Summoning up his courage, he casually glanced to the side.

Xie Xu’s seat was empty.

Jiang Shi belatedly remembered that Xie Xu had been called away by Yang Yuan to discuss something. He had even said goodbye to Jiang Shi before leaving, but at the time, Jiang Shi had been in the middle of a team fight and had responded rather dismissively.

Jiang Shi sighed inwardly and glanced to his right, suddenly noticing that the three teammates beside him were huddled together, whispering in hushed tones. He pulled down his headset slightly to listen in.

Jiang Lele: “Is An sick in the head? Why would he say those things on his stream?”

Yu Hui: “He’s already burned his bridges with us, so he doesn’t care anymore.”

Zhao Jiu: “Should we tell the captain and Yang-ge? I noticed that Jiang Shi’s fans are starting to flood in too.”

Jiang Shi’s fans were known for their terrifying battle power, and Zhao Jiu feared the situation might escalate.

Just as Jiang Lele was about to respond, he suddenly felt a bit crowded. Turning his head, he caught sight of Jiang Shi’s expressionless face.
