After he hung his clothes on, he turned around and found that Jinxin was still staring at him deeply. His undisguised and naked gaze made him feel embarrassed. From those blue eyes, if he read it correctly, he saw lust.

Li Shuo plucked at his own hair and said awkwardly: “Can you…not look at me like that?”

Jinxin still stared at him. He even reached his hands out to him.

Li Shuo’s heart beats like a drum. He doesn’t know what Jinxin wants to do. They are different species so he thinks that he shouldn’t speculate that merman’s behaviour is similar to human’s behaviour. But the flames dancing in those blue eyes clearly resemble lust……

Jinxin looked at him with his neck tilted. He was looking at him expectantly. But after waiting for a long time, seeing that Li Shuo didn’t move, he became confused again.

Li Shuo hugged his own knees nervously: “What…do you want to do?”

Jinxin moved forward and stretched out his arms straight to reach Li Shuo. But he couldn’t go far. If he went any further, his tail would leave the water. He couldn’t completely leave the water. Li Shuo had already discovered this.

Li Shuo frowned: “Jinxin, what do you want? I really want to know what you want.”

Instead, Jinxin stretched out his slender finger and pointed to Li Shuo. He then pointed to his own heart. He then said firmly and seriously, “Li Shuo.”

Li Shuo’s heart throbbed. He couldn’t help but to take a deep breath. His rationality desperately warned him that Jinxin was a merman. He was also male. They are creatures of two different worlds. They couldn’t merge into one. He shouldn’t…shouldn’t be tempted by a merman.

But his body has already involuntarily leaned towards Jinxin. Under the affectionate gaze of those eyes, he felt that he was no longer himself. He was dazzled. He was sunken in and got lost in the blue pupils like being swallowed up by the sea.

Jinxin grabbed Li Shuo’s arm and pulled him into his arms without giving him the slightest chance to hesitate or flinch.

Li Shuo grabbed Jinxin’s arm and looked at him intensely: “Do you want me? Why do you want me? Do I have any special meaning to you?”

Jinxin blinked his eyes. He then pressed Li Shuo under him and kissed his lips deeply.

When the two kissed passionately, Li Shuo tasted the sweet nectar again. But it seemed sweeter than usual.

Jinxin’s hand caressed Li Shuo’s bare skin. The temperature in his palm seemed to be able to burn everything he touched. It made Li Shuo feel extremely hot and he couldn’t help twisting his body.

After spending an unimaginably crazy and wonderful night, Li Shuo opened his eyes to the sight of a hot noon sun.

After waking up, he found that Jinxin was gone. There were some water stains on the rocky bank, which proved that Jinxin had left not long ago. He was so tired that he didn’t notice it.

Thinking of what happened last night, Li Shuo’s face turned red with shame.

It’s crazy. He did the craziest thing in his life. He had sex with a merman. A male of a different species. But he didn’t regret it. He liked Jinxin. He finally understands how sacred and beautiful it is to ‘fall in love’. So why should this feeling be determined by species or gender?

But… where did Jinxin go?

Li Shuo guessed that Jinxin was going to catch fish for him. This place is not as convenient to get in and out as the cave before. If Jinxin wants to leave here, he needs to cross a section of shoal full of reefs.

In fact, on land, he doesn’t need him to find food to feed him.

He moved his limbs a bit. Although his lower body was a little sore, he still managed to get up. He put on his dry clothes and decided to go around the island. In addition to looking for some food, more importantly he wanted to see if there were any people around. However, in order to prevent Jinxin from finding him gone when he came back, he drew a pair of arrow marks on the rock with charcoal ash, hoping that Jinxin could understand.

After finishing all this, Li Shuo set off.

Passing through the beach, he came to a forest. As a navy officer, he had received strict survival training. He did not slack off simply because he was a prince. So he made himself a pair of shoes out of weeds. He then made simple weapons out of sharp stones and tree branches.

In order not to get lost, he did not dare to go too far. Unfortunately, he did not find any human traces. With this simple equipment, he could not hunt even a single hare. But he picked some delicious berries. He could at least fill the stomach with this.

When he returned to the cave, he saw that Jinxin was back with several fish, scallops and seaweed. They were all thrown on the ground. As soon as Jinxin saw him, he anxiously hit the water with his tail. He was obviously angry.

Li Shuo hurried over: “Have you been waiting for me for a long time?”

Unwillingly, Jinxin hugged Li Shuo fiercely. He then bit him on the shoulder. Although the bite was not hard, it still hurt a little.

Li Shuo comforted him with a light smile: “I’m sorry. I just want to go to the island to take a look. Maybe I can find someone to help me?”

Jinxin raised his eyebrows and stared at him disapprovingly.

Li Shuo kissed him: “Don’t be angry. You suddenly disappeared this morning.”

Jinxin pursed his lips. There was a strange look on his face.

Li Shuo smiled softly and said, “But I believe that you will definitely come back.”

Jinxin stared blankly at Li Shuo’s innocent and sincere smile.

“Look. I picked some berries. You must have never eaten them.” Li Shuo picked a berry and rinsed it in the sea water before stuffing it into Jinxin’s lips, “Try it. It’s sweet. It’s very good to eat.”

Jinxin’s thin lips parted slightly and swallowed the berries. He chewed on them carefully. His eyes lit up and he nodded towards Li Shuo.

“It’s very sweet.” Li Shuo ate one himself. “This berry not only tastes sweet, but it also can treat diarrhoea. It can also be used as a raw material for weaving and dyeing. It is the most common berry on land.”

Jinxin opened his mouth and motioned for Li Shuo to feed him more.

Li Shuo handed over another one to him. Jinxin shook his head and pointed to his own lips. Li Shuo couldn’t help smiling. He put the berries in his own mouth, leaned over and pressed his lips on Jinxin’s lips. He put the berries into his mouth in exchange for a sweet kiss.

Li Shuo smiled and said, “There are many delicious things on land. I really hope to taste them all with you.”

Jinxin also looked at Li Shuo with a smile.

“By the way, I’ll let you try cooked fish today. You must have never eaten one before.”

Li Shuo lit a fire. He then sharpened the shells on the rocks and used them instead of knives to clean the internal organs of the fish. He then used tree branches to skewer the fish. He put them on the fire and scavenged a little bit of sand as salt before roasting them on the fire.

Jinxin looked at him quietly.

He grilled the fish over and over again. When it was cooked, he excitedly took the grilled fish and tore off a piece of fish. He blew it for a long time before handing it to Jinxin’s mouth: “Here, try it. “

Jinxin hesitated for a moment. But he still opened his mouth and took a bite. Then, his eyes lighted up slightly in acknowledgement and he nodded: “Li Shuo.”

“It’s delicious.” Li Shuo said happily, “In Lambert’s palace, there are the best chefs on the Red Earth Continent. They can cook the most delicious food in the world…” He looked at Jinxin with full of expectation. “If…if only you could come back to Lambert with me. I will show you the wonderful colours of the land. I want to share all the wonderful things I like with you!”

Jinxin smiled and rested his head on Li Shuo’s neck. There was a trace of uneasiness in his eyes.

Li Shuo trembled because of his bold idea. He was terrified but also excited. He couldn’t imagine what would happen when human beings saw Jinxin. Would they be scared or mesmerised by him? But he doesn’t want to be separated from Jinxin. He believes that they are in love even if they have only known each other for only two to three days. Even if they are not the same species, he is full of love for Jinxin and feels happy being with him. True love should not be rejected by anyone. What’s more, he is the prince of Lambert. He really wants to bring Jinxin back to his hometown!

It was the first time for him to eat cooked food these days. Li Shuo ate several fish and described his hometown to Jinxin while eating. His tone is full of yearning.

Jinxin was listening earnestly when suddenly, his eyes changed. His body straightened up and he looked straight out at the cave’s entrance.

Li Shuo was taken aback by him: “What’s the matter? Is something wrong?”

Jinxin narrowed his eyes. His long fishtail swayed restlessly.

Li Shuo grabbed his crude weapons and torches, intending to go out to find out. But he was stopped by Jinxin.

Li Shuo comforted him and said, “Don’t be afraid. I’ll go out and take a look. Don’t worry. I’m strong enough.” After speaking, he pulled Jinxin’s hand away and walked out quietly.

Just as he reached the entrance of the cave, he heard a rustling sound. He shouted, “Who’s there?!”

Will there be any wild beasts on such an island… He was very vigilant and did not leave the cave. He instead stuck out the torch to patrol outside the cave.

Suddenly, little by little, flames lit up on the grass. Black shadows appear one by one. With the light of the fire, Li Shuo saw clearly that they were people and there were at least twenty dozen of them with paint on their faces. Their faces were painted and they dressed in clothes he had never seen before. They were all staring at him.

Li Shuo was startled. He turned around and ran into the cave. They broke into someone else’s territory. So the original owner came in a bad way. He and Jinxin must go back to the sea as soon as possible!

Running back to the cave, Li Shuo shouted: “Jinxin, let’s go back to the sea. Hurry up!” He was about to pick Jinxin up. But the more busy he was, the easier it was to make mistakes. He slipped and fell into the water.

A group of footsteps approached, accompanied by fierce flames.

Jinxin bared his teeth. The flickering flames shone on his face, making his face ferocious and his eyes looking sharp.

Those people ran in and tried their best to shine on the two of them with their torches. At the same time, they made frightened voices and yelled something in their own language.

Li Shuo nervously protected Jinxin behind him. He said urgently: “Your Excellency, we broke into this place unintentionally. We did not have any malicious intentions.”

The group of people screamed and raised their long knives one after another. Their faces were ferocious and murderous.

Suddenly, an old man came out from the crowd. He waved his hand to signal his people to be quiet. He then looked at Li Shuo. His old face was filled with coldness: “Young man, where are you from?”

“I…I am from the Kingdom of Lambert. Do you know the Kingdom of Lambert?”

“It’s far away from here.” The old man’s eyes were fixed on the merman behind Li Shuo.

Li Shuo felt a little relieved that someone was able to communicate with him: “I was in a shipwreck and drifted here. I didn’t mean to break into your territory.”

“I believe in you.” The old man stretched out his finger like a dead tree branch and pointed at Jinxin. He said in a deep voice, “When you meet his kind, you will encounter disaster.”

Li Shuo turned his head to look at Jinxin. He explained: “No, he saved me. He may not be human. But he is very kind. He…–”

“–He is a sea monster.” The old man showed fear on his face, “Stupid child, he is a sea monster. Sea monsters are good at confusing human beings with their beautiful appearance and graceful singing voice. They are barbaric, cruel, and evil. They dragged humans into the water and drowned them just for the fun of it.”

What is this person talking about? Is he talking about Jinxin? Li Shuo quickly shook his head: “Your Excellency has misunderstood them. I know of this. We grew up with all kinds of legends about the sea. But the legends are just legends. They are fictional. He is a kind merman. He saved me and he will never hurt me.”

“He saved you?” The old man sneered. “The sea monster has powerful supernatural powers in the sea. How do you think you got into a shipwreck in the first place?”

Li Shuo was stunned. He looked back at Jinxin but Jinxin shook his head. His eyes looked innocent and clear. Li Shuo shook his head, feeling guilty for hesitating at the stranger’s one-sided words for a moment. He then firmly said: “Sorry. I only believe what my eyes see.”

The old man shook his head regretfully: “Then, you will believe me soon.”

Li Shuo stretched out his arms to protect Jinxin. He said anxiously, “What are you trying to do? I beg you. Don’t hurt him. He is not evil!”

“The sea monster has a strong desire for revenge. If he is allowed to leave, he will bring us even greater disasters.” The old man said, “Young man, get out of the way.”

“No. He can understand me. He saved me. He has feelings. He’s not a monster!” Li Shuo shouted.

The old man sighed: “Poor child, you have been completely confused by the sea monster.” The old man then said something in his own language and the group of people rushed over with their knives in hand.

Li Shuo put his weapon across his chest and shouted, “Jinxin, hurry up and go back to the sea!”

“Ah, damn humans.”

Li Shuo felt like he was struck by lightning for a moment. That lazy, ethereal, and extremely pleasant voice came from behind him…

Li Shuo turned his head stiffly. He looked at the breathtakingly beautiful face and the pair of clear blue eyes. He was trembling all over. He then heard his own voice escape from his mouth: “You…can talk?”

Jinxin touched Li Shuo’s face and smiled, “Idiot. Otherwise, how would I understand you?”

“You……”

Jinxin kissed Li Shuo tenderly on the face. He then glared at the group of people coldly: “You humans. For disturbing my good mood, all of you are going to die.”
