The next day, Zhou Zhou got up feeling refreshed. As he was about to leave the house, he heard curses coming from his sister’s room. He couldn’t help but feel sorry for his brother-in-law and then went to school with a cheerful mood.

He hadn’t met his sister’s boyfriend before. Zhou Qiao wouldn’t let him call him ‘brother-in-law’. But Zhou Zhou was a mischievous person! The more you told him not to do something, the more he wanted to do it. He called him that with a crisp tone, which infuriated Zhou Qiao countless times and led her to pick up a slipper to beat him.

Zhou Zhou wasn’t sure what his sister’s boyfriend did for a living or how old he was. He only knew that he was a good person because only a good person could endure his sister’s temper that was comparable to a hydrogen bomb.

Zhou Zhou loved his brother-in-law a lot. Even though they hadn’t met, they frequently chatted on WeChat and occasionally had phone calls. But that’s not the point. The point was that his brother-in-law was very generous and often gave him pocket money.

Every time he received money, he would tell Zhou Qiao, “Brother-in-law sent me money again. This time, he sent this much…” Zhou Qiao wouldn’t reply. She just rolled her eyes and transferred the money back herself. She then warned Zhou Zhou that if he didn’t return it next time, don’t contact him anymore. She even said that her brother’s living expenses can’t be spent at all. If he dared to send him money again, she’ll confront him head on.

However, Zhou Zhou’s brother-in-law kept sending him money. Therefore, every few days, Zhou Zhou would overhear his sister cursing on the phone.

While nibbling on his breakfast, Zhou Zhou bumped into Yu Yang at the school gate.

Yu Yang seemed to have emerged from the shadow of the sausages. He was standing by the school sign, eating a steamed bun. Regardless of his personality, he still looked handsome standing like that.

“Hey!” Zhou Zhou walked over and patted his shoulder. He greeted him with a friendly smile. “Good morning, 1.9-meter-long sausage!”

Yu Yang threw up his breakfast all over the ground.

Yu Yang covered Zhou Zhou’s mouth and dragged him into the school. The student on duty with the broom was following closely behind.

The end result was that Zhou Zhou and Yu Yang were punished to clean the school gate area for a week.

Zhou Zhou’s mood was filled with anticipation throughout the whole day. He guessed that Cheng Che would come to find him during the last self-study session in the afternoon. How exciting!

As expected, just a few minutes into the self-study session, someone patted Zhou Zhou’s back from behind. A soft voice said, “Zhou Zhou, Cheng Che is looking for you.”

Zhou Zhou was struggling with a chemistry problem. Upon hearing this, he immediately turned his head towards the back door. Cheng Che was standing tall and casual, holding a book in one hand while the other was tucked into the pocket of his school uniform pants. The golden rays of the evening sun cast a slanting light on his side, making him look like a skillfully drawn painting.

Zhou Zhou flashed Cheng Che an ‘OK’ hand gesture. He then promptly packed up his books and grabbed an orange from his drawer.

After taking a couple of steps away from his seat, Zhou Zhou returned to his desk, taking a piece of chocolate from his backpack.

After a few more steps, he turned back and took a bottle of milk.

A few more steps and Zhou Zhou turned around again to grab a handful of lollipops.

A few more steps, and Zhou Zhou…

His desk mate said, “You might as well just carry the whole desk with you, Zhou Zhou.”

Zhou Zhou chuckled mischievously as he picked up a packet of cookies. He finally dashed towards the back door without looking back.

Cheng Che patiently waited for him. When he saw Zhou Zhou coming out with a bunch of snacks in his arms, he asked, “Are you going on a spring outing?”

“Oh no, not really. I was afraid that tutoring me would strain your brain. So I got you some snacks for extra energy.” Zhou Zhou was having a bit of trouble holding all the snacks in his arms. He picked up the chocolate and cookies, handing them to Cheng Che. “Could you hold these for me?”

Cheng Che paused for a moment before reaching out to take them. He then pulled the two books that Zhou Zhou had tucked under his arm. He said, “Let’s go to the self-study room.”

The self-study room was usually used by high-achieving Alphas. They didn’t need to listen to teachers during class hours. So they would come here to study and do exercises on their own. However, since it was already a self-study period, there weren’t many people in the room.

Cheng Che and Zhou Zhou found a relatively empty spot in the self-study room. Cheng Che seemed to have a preference for sitting by the window. So he headed straight for a seat by the window.

Zhou Zhou had no objections. After all, the seats by the window had good lighting and better ventilation. Plus, you could look outside at the scenery when you got tired of studying.

Shit. Even if Cheng Che took Zhou Zhou to the toilet and sat on him, he would still think it’s the best thing ever.

After Cheng Che sat down, he noticed that Zhou Zhou had chosen a seat that left another empty seat in between them. Cheng Che turned his head and calmly asked while flipping through his book, “Are you planning to have phone tutoring with me?”

“Seems like I can’t. I didn’t bring my phone.” Seeing that Cheng Che wasn’t particularly averse to his presence, Zhou Zhou happily moved to sit beside him, trying to sound nonchalant, “I was worried you might not like being too close to others. So I’m fully considering your feelings.”

Cheng Che looked at his book. “I’m fine.”

Zhou Zhou nodded and then subtly let his eyes glance down at Cheng Che’s legs. His inner emotions were quite intense as he thought, “Since I’m already sitting next to Cheng Che, is there really that much difference between this and sitting on his thigh?”
