Zhou Zhou worked through the incorrect problems and reviewed the related concepts. He took Cheng Che’s error sets as a reference. He then closely examined Cheng Che’s problem-solving steps. Time passed by unnoticed by him.
Cheng Che changed his sleeping position, turning his head slightly toward Zhou Zhou.
Zhou Zhou was so engrossed in his studies that he didn’t realise he had figured out all the problems on the test paper until he lifted his head. It was then that he noticed Cheng Che was sleeping, facing his direction.
Cheng Che was really handsome, with a youthful appearance that hinted at a slight maturity as he transitioned into manhood. His features seemed almost meticulously crafted, with no flaws at all. The only ‘flaw’ was that his eyes were currently closed, concealed by long lashes, preventing Zhou Zhou from locking eyes with his deep dark pupils.
Zhou Zhou thought better of it. If Cheng Che were to open his eyes right now, Zhou Zhou probably wouldn’t be able to observe him so closely.
“Cheng Che?” Zhou Zhou called him in a hushed tone.
Cheng Che didn’t respond, appearing to be in a deep sleep.
Zhou Zhou moved closer to Cheng Che. Their faces were now almost touching. He rested his chin on his arm as he gazed at Cheng Che’s peaceful sleeping face and softly spoke, “Cheng Che, I’m an Omega.”
“I really like you, Cheng Che.”
“Even though you might think we’re not that close yet, I’ve liked you for a while now.”
“I was actually supposed to transfer to the Omega Center. But I wanted to see you every day. So I secretly stayed here.”
“Cheng Che, I have a bold request.”
Zhou Zhou took a deep breath. “Can I… kiss you?”
“If you don’t answer, I’ll take it as a yes.”
Of course, Cheng Che didn’t respond. He was still asleep.
After saying this, Zhou Zhou didn’t hesitate. He sat up and leaned in, gently planting a kiss on Cheng Che’s lips. At that moment, the sound of his racing heartbeat was palpable, reminding him of how he felt after running 1500 metres. It was like he had stolen a sweet piece of candy, filled with nervousness and excitement. Even though his heart was pounding fast and heavy, he felt light as if he could float away. His head was also spinning.
Then, suddenly, he smelled a strong scent of minty sake. At first, Zhou Zhou thought it was because he was too close to Cheng Che. But a second later, he realised that Cheng Che’s pheromone scent seemed to be getting stronger, almost uncontrollably emanating from him. If Zhou Zhou hadn’t used a special suppressant, he would have been completely overwhelmed by this concentration of Alpha pheromones, potentially induced into heat.
Terrified, Zhou Zhou immediately returned to his seat. His eyes fixed on Cheng Che’s face, trying to find evidence of what had caused the sudden surge in pheromones. Normally, the concentration of pheromones was closely related to an Alpha’s mood.
However, there were no apparent signs of anything wrong. Cheng Che continued to sleep peacefully.
As the pheromones in the air gradually dissipated, Zhou Zhou cautiously pushed Cheng Che’s arm. “Cheng Che?”
Cheng Che furrowed his eyebrows slightly before his eyelashes fluttered. He slowly opened his eyes. His gaze was somewhat drowsy from a short nap. He sat up, rubbed the back of his neck and asked, “What’s wrong? Is there something you can’t figure out?”
“No, I’ve already corrected everything myself. Can you just grade one more test paper for me?” Zhou Zhou said.
“Sure.” Cheng Che opened a red pen and began to look at another test paper.
“Um…,” Zhou Zhou cautiously asked, “Did you just have a dream?”
“Seems like it,” Cheng Che replied while looking at the test paper. “Why do you ask?”
“Well, your pheromone concentration suddenly spiked. So I was just wondering…” Zhou Zhou felt quite guilty, especially because Cheng Che’s pheromones had intensified right after he kissed him. He couldn’t help feeling a bit scared.
“It was probably influenced by the dream,” Cheng Che said. His fingers idly tracing the edges of the test paper as he focused on a question. “Did I disturb your studying?”
“No, not at all. I was just curious,” Zhou Zhou flipped through his chemistry book. “It didn’t really disturb me. I’m an Alpha too. So it shouldn’t affect me too much.”
In reality, it did have an effect on Zhou Zhou. He could feel the glands on the back of his neck warming up slightly. He felt a bit flushed. He checked the calendar mentally and realised that it was almost time to replenish his suppressant, especially since Cheng Che’s pheromones seemed to be interfering with its effectiveness.
Cheng Che continued to grade the test papers, occasionally glancing at Zhou Zhou. Zhou Zhou’s face and ears had a faint pink tint. The blush on the back of his neck had deepened. It seemed to spread outwards from the glandular region, like dye spreading on pristine skin, forming a blush that extended down his neck. It almost looked like a flower blooming from beneath his pink sweater.

@ZZZZZhou: I…I…I kissed him today! His pheromones smell so good! He even said “be good” to me!!! I must continue pretending to be innocent and pure! I also confessed to him. Even though he didn’t hear it, it feels so much better after saying it! After all, I said it to him myself! He looks so handsome when he’s asleep. I hope to wake up to see that face in bed in the future (no need for a cage, thanks).
Five minutes later, Zhou Zhou was scrolling through Weibo when he noticed a notification. He opened it and saw that his recent post had received a ‘like’.
Zhou Zhou’s heart skipped a beat. This was his alternate account with only three followers, all of whom were inactive or just some bot accounts.
He carefully opened the notification and found that it was from a user with the ID: @5bcc. He checked the user’s profile, which had no information at all. The user’s Weibo page had only one post from half an hour ago with the words: “Little Strawberry”.
Looking at the user’s list of followings and followers, most of them are just a few scattered bot accounts.
Zhou Zhou breathed a sigh of relief. It didn’t seem like someone he knew. He then went back to his own profile and noticed that the recent post had only a dozen views. But strangely, the ‘like’ was also gone.
It’s probably just someone who accidentally ‘liked’ my post while scrolling and then ‘unliked’ it, Zhou Zhou thought. After all, it was his alternate account and he hadn’t mentioned Cheng Che’s name or anything specific. Who would know who I’m talking about or who I am?
Zhou Zhou reassured himself and went to sleep, locking his phone screen.
