Cheng Che always lived up to his words. Every day around mealtime, he came to pick up Zhou Zhou and they went to the cafeteria together.
Yu Yang, holding an omelette, watched their backs as they left. He felt very frustrated. He picked up his phone and sent a WeChat message to Jin Wuqi.
Yu Yang: Have you ever considered going back to high school?
Jin Wuqi: What’s your opinion of me if that were to happen? I’m a university graduate from a prestigious overseas institution.
Yu Yang: I want to experience campus romance.
Jin Wuqi: How about this? After you finish the college entrance exam, I’ll secure a position at your university. We can date on campus every day. How does that sound?
Yu Yang: Teacher-student romance? I’m not so into that. I prefer relationships with classmates.
Jin Wuqi: Postgraduate students university romance it is then.
Yu Yang gritted his teeth and turned off his phone. He went to the cafeteria with a few alpha classmates. Now, he found the omelette tasteless and decided to eat some cafeteria food to spice up his palate.

During this period, the cafeteria in the beta school district is under renovation. So the beta students are arranged to eat at the alpha student cafeteria, causing the cafeteria to be exceptionally crowded.
Zhou Zhou and Cheng Che stand in line, with Cheng Che placing a hand on Zhou Zhou’s shoulder to prevent him from being bumped into by others. At the same time, he reminds the little guy, who only knows how to chat and not pay attention to the progress of the line, to move forward.
“Why are there always so many fish dishes in the cafeteria?” Zhou Zhou’s voice sounds clear and bright in the bustling cafeteria. Afraid that Cheng Che might not hear him, he intentionally raises his volume, “Braised fish, steamed fish, boiled fish. Is fish really that delicious? I think the cafeteria’s fish dishes taste average.”
Cheng Che puts his arm around Zhou Zhou’s shoulder and gives him a little push forward. He then says an inaudible sentence.
Zhou Zhou didn’t hear clearly. After standing firmly in his ground, he turned to look at Cheng Che, asking, “What did you just say?”
Cheng Che lowered his eyes and looked at him for a couple of seconds. He then leaned slightly down to Zhou Zhou’s ear and spoke slowly, “You said it yourself. People who like to eat fish have powerful tongues.”
Zhou Zhou, feeling puzzled, tried to recall if he had indeed said something like that. Then he heard Cheng Che continue, “I’m quite good at eating fish. What do you think of my tongue?”
His deep and slow voice was surprisingly clear amid the noisy surroundings. Zhou Zhou instantly grasped Cheng Che’s implication. In the bustling cafeteria, his face turned red in an instant. He turned away and didn’t say another word to Cheng Che.
When Zhou Zhou was pursuing Cheng Che, he threw his pride to the clouds. But after they truly got together, he couldn’t help but become shy. Cheng Che could easily make him blush with just a few teasing remarks.
Zhou Zhou really hated Cheng Che’s damn good memory. He remembered every trivial detail. Zhou Zhou even suspected that Cheng Che was secretly keeping a diary about their daily life interactions.

After buying the dishes, Zhou Zhou said to Cheng Che, “Go find a seat. I’ll go buy some cola.”
Cheng Che, waiting for the auntie to pack his vegetables, glanced down at Zhou Zhou when he heard this. He wanted to tell Zhou Zhou to drink less cola, as it’s not good for his teeth. However, he knew Zhou Zhou probably wouldn’t listen. Cheng Che briefly thought about scaring Zhou Zhou by saying cola kills sperm. But then he figured it wasn’t necessary. Whether it’s true or not, it has nothing to do with Zhou Zhou. Besides, Zhou Zhou doesn’t need to worry about it, so he might as well let him happily enjoy his drink.
So Cheng Che nodded, “Be careful. Don’t bump into anything.”
Zhou Zhou absentmindedly responded with an “mm” and slipped away. The weather was getting warmer. He really craved an ice-cold cola now!
Cheng Che only realised after picking up his own tray that he should have asked Zhou Zhou to leave his dishes with him so that he could have carried them for him. This little puppy never pays attention to the path. Cheng Che estimated that by the time Zhou Zhou reached their table with the cola, half of the dishes might have spilled.
As Cheng Che hurried towards the senior high school dining area, he encountered a few familiar beta friends. After exchanging a few words in the bustling hall, Cheng Che caught sight of Zhou Zhou who was carefully holding a tray with one hand and gripping a cup of cola with the other as he made his way to their dining spot. Unexpectedly, he looked very serious and cautious. It was as if that cup of cola was his lifeline.
The cola was purchased from the self-service machine which was poured into a disposable paper cup. It was covered with a plastic lid. The lid had an opening for a straw or could be completely opened to drink directly.
As Zhou Zhou made his way, some passing alpha greeted him. Zhou Zhou nodded absentmindedly. His attention was solely on his cola.
Ice-cold cola! It was so refreshing and exhilarating! Zhou Zhou had no appetite for his meal. He just wanted to enjoy the cola.
Cheng Che, feeling reassured, shifted his gaze back to the betas he was chatting with. However, within a few seconds, he heard a commotion coming from Zhou Zhou’s direction, accompanied by what sounded like gasps and the clattering of a tray hitting the ground.

Zhou Zhou was walking with full concentration, almost reaching the dining area where he could finally enjoy his ice-cold cola.
Lost in his own silly happiness, he lifted his head and noticed a beta approaching from the opposite direction.
It was easy to distinguish between alphas and betas by their uniforms, which were the same style but in different colours.
Zhou Zhou furrowed his brows slightly. He felt like something was off about this beta’s expression – he couldn’t quite put his finger on it. But there was a hint of hostility. The gaze was strange, staring directly at him. It was intense and unwavering.
Zhou Zhou’s speculation was confirmed in the next moment, as the beta directly tipped the tray over onto Zhou Zhou. The contents of the tray, including soup and rice, spilled all over Zhou Zhou’s chest and cascaded down his school uniform. It left him thoroughly drenched and dishevelled.
It couldn’t even be said that the tray was tipped – it was more like it was thrown directly at Zhou Zhou. Holding his tray and cola, Zhou Zhou had no time to react. The tray thrown by the beta eventually fell to the ground with a loud clatter. It was a sound that cut through the noisy cafeteria and drew hushed gasps from passing students.
“Oh, sorry,” the beta apologised insincerely. There was no remorse on his face. He didn’t even spare Zhou Zhou a glance as he casually wiped off the soup he accidentally splashed on his own hand. Almost dismissively, he said, “Didn’t see the way clearly. That was my bad.”
Zhou Zhou’s face remained expressionless, thinking: Of course, you wouldn’t see the way clearly since you were so busy staring at me. And your fake smile is way too obvious. Your acting skills are really terrible.

*Translator’s Note: I have not proofread this chapter. Pardon for any mistakes. Our antagonist is here. The annoying kind. The kind that, if I write a story, I won’t write such an antagonist. Bitch, please…. There are plenty of fishes in the sea, Cheng Che is not the only handsome alpha in the world. Why are you so obsessed with getting him? For me, the only downside of this novel is this antagonist. Oh but I forget that people like this do exist in real life. *sigh* -K
