Currently, Zhou Zhou feels like he’s walking on thin ice with everything he does. Since being ‘marked’ by Cheng Che, Cheng Che has increased his supervision over him. Zhou Zhou can’t predict when he might be unexpectedly pulled away by Cheng Che by the back of his collar while chatting with others and sent back to the classroom to do homework.
Other Alphas sigh, “Zhou Zhou, look at how diligent and responsible Cheng Che is. After the college entrance exam, you should treat him to a big meal to repay his efforts.”
Zhou Zhou outwardly agrees with a cheerful “Of course, of course”. But he rolls his eyes behind their backs.
For instance, when Zhou Zhou walks in the corridor with other Alphas and Cheng Che approaches with a few other Alphas, he always maintains a poker face. But in reality, his gaze carries a hint of ill intentions as he looks at Zhou Zhou. Zhou Zhou is always caught by his eyes. He will look away every time.
Furthermore, Zhou Zhou is becoming more and more resistant to having close contact with other Alphas. Once, an Alpha tried to pat Zhou Zhou’s head. But Zhou Zhou instinctively avoided it and angrily declared, “From now on, none of you are allowed to touch my head!”
Only Cheng Che can pat my head!
When asked why, Zhou Zhou asserted, “I still want to grow taller!”
The other Alphas didn’t take it seriously and teased him, “Aren’t you already tall? Your face doesn’t suit being too tall. It would be weird.”
Zhou Zhou is bound to be driven crazy by the Alpha community sooner or later.

After lunch, Zhou Zhou and Cheng Che went upstairs. Cheng Che, all the way, kept shamelessly talking dirty. Zhou Zhou felt like his head was going to explode. His face was consistently flushed red. Given the school environment, he couldn’t directly cover Cheng Che’s mouth to stop him from talking. So he had to bite his lip and endure the embarrassment.
There were some test papers stacked on top of the office bookshelf that needed to be moved down. The class teacher of Class Five was thinking about finding a few Alphas to help when he saw Cheng Che and Zhou Zhou passing by the office door side by side. So, he called them in.
Then the class teacher raised his hand and pointed to the doorway, saying, “Hey, You. Yu Yang, come in and help too.”
For a few seconds, Yu Yang looked at Cheng Che and Zhou Zhou being called into the office with a malicious glee, “?”
The class teacher instructed them to count the test papers from their respective classes and distribute them to the students. He then went out for lunch. While other teachers were either having lunch or monitoring students in their classrooms, only the three of them were left in the office.
Yu Yang looked dejected. He didn’t want to stay with these two at all. He felt like he was being mistreated and envious.
Zhou Zhou didn’t pay much attention to the situation. He leaned over the bookshelf, trying to reach up and grab the test papers. Unfortunately, the cruel reality was that he could only touch the corners of the small stack of test papers at the bottom. He couldn’t move the entire pile. The chairs in the office were for teachers. Therefore, using one to stand on wasn’t ideal.
Blame it on the damned bookshelf being too high.
Cheng Che and Yu Yang, the two tall guys, stood behind Zhou Zhou, folding their arms and watching with relish as he struggled to reach the test papers on the top of the bookshelf. Zhou Zhou, standing on his tiptoes, was looking particularly pitiful and cute.
Zhou Zhou was well aware of the amusement the two behind him were deriving. He gritted his teeth, feeling extremely angry inside but unwilling to admit defeat or ask for their help. It would be too humiliating! He must get the papers by himself!
In the midst of this arduous struggle, suddenly a body was pressed up against his back. The scent of clear minty sake pheromones lightly surrounded him as Cheng Che placed one hand on Zhou Zhou’s shoulder and reached up with the other. He effortlessly took hold of the test papers. Cheng Che lowered his head, approaching Zhou Zhou’s ear and chuckled, “Little Strawberry, you should grow up quickly.”
Yu Yang stared expressionlessly at the flower pots on the windowsill.
Zhou Zhou, blushing, was about to urge Cheng Che to give him the test papers when Cheng Che pushed them further inside on top of the shelf and said to Zhou Zhou, “Try to take them now.”
Where the hell did this elementary school chicken Alpha come from? Is this prank really amusing???
Zhou Zhou sidestepped out from in front of Cheng Che and turned around. He looked around to find out where the teachers’ pointers were. Today, he was going to have a decisive battle with Cheng Che.
Cheng Che chuckled as he reached up to take down the test papers. He then called out, “Yu Yang.”
Yu Yang finally tore his gaze away from the flower pots. He took a step forward and received the test papers from Cheng Che. Feeling the weight in his hands, he clicked his tongue and asked with hidden meaning, “This job is tough on the lower back. Cheng Che, can you handle it?”
Cheng Che continued to hand out the test papers. As he passed the papers to Yu Yang, he gave Zhou Zhou a side-eye with a smirk, “Ask Zhou Zhou.”
Zhou Zhou’s face turned crimson. He glared at the two of them, saying, “Both of you, go to hell!”
Then he turned around and left the office, vowing never to be associated with these two Alphas again.
The final outcome was that Cheng Che held the test papers for Class Two and knocked on the back door of Class Two, saying, “Zhou Zhou, the teacher asked you to take the test papers. Why did you run away? I even had to deliver them for you.”
Most people were quietly studying on their own. Cheng Che’s not-too-hushed words sounded particularly clear. Zhou Zhou was pointed at and whispered about by other Alphas, “Tsk tsk, Zhou Zhou, you’re really hopeless. Cheng Che not only tutors you but also has to deliver your test papers…”
Zhou Zhou scowled at them and waved his fist. He then went to the back door, gritting his teeth to collect the test papers. The papers weren’t too heavy. Zhou Zhou could easily hold them with one hand. Cheng Che casually put one hand in his pocket and used the other to hold Zhou Zhou’s hand. He handed the test papers over. Their hands were blocked by the test papers and Zhou Zhou looked at Cheng Che with confusion. Cheng Che lowered his eyes and caressed his palm. He then placed something in Zhou Zhou’s hand.
It was a small folded note.
Zhou Zhou held onto the note tightly, with a mix of anticipation and nervousness. He divided the test papers for his classmates and returned to his seat. He propped up a book to shield his face and leaned on the desk. He bit his lip, slowly unfolding the note.
The handwriting on it was casual and beautiful, saying: Why are you so cute today?
Below, there was another line: Oops, my mistake. You’re cute every day.
Zhou Zhou held the note back in his palm, burying his face in his arms. His ears were flushed red. In the bright noon, in the quiet classroom with only the sound of pages turning, he could clearly hear his own heartbeat.
In my heart, there’s a little flower. It quietly sprouted under the spring sunshine, ready to bloom slowly. But you just smiled at me and praised me for being ‘cute’. My little flower couldn’t help but bloom brightly.
