Yu Yang and Jin Wuqi were covered in sweat as they embraced each other. Jin Wuqi lifted Yu Yang’s hand. Looking at a bruise on it, he said, “Did you climb the wall with Cheng Che just to get into a fight? Impressive.”
Yu Yang withdrew himself from Jin Wuqi’s embrace, feeling perplexed. They had just been making love and now he was being scolded.
“How did you know?” he asked.
“How did I know?” Jin Wuqi turned to look at him. His amber eyes were glistening. “Cheng Che called me. He asked me to inform the school that you and him were caught climbing the wall. Otherwise, you would have been summoned to the disciplinary office for a talk already, you know?”
“No wonder everything was calm and nothing happened to me at all.” Yu Yang propped himself up and kissed the corner of Jin Wuqi’s mouth. “What did you say?”
“What else can I say? Just that the senior students in the third year are under a lot of pressure and they went over the wall to play games. But I doubt the headmaster will believe me. However, Cheng Che has always been a good student. The school is counting on him to achieve the top score. So they won’t investigate further. Nothing serious happened anyway.”
He looked at Yu Yang. “So, why did you two go out to fight?”
“I don’t know the details,” Yu Yang said. “But when Cheng Che and I arrived, Zhou Zhou was being cornered by three alphas against the wall. And they…”
Yu Yang didn’t want to associate that word with Zhou Zhou. So he said, “They probably just wanted to… because Zhou Zhou looks good.”
“Rape him?” Jin Wuqi asked.
Just hearing that word made Yu Yang feel nauseous and irritated. He nodded.
“What kind of grudge could they have to go that far?” Jin Wuqi frowned. “Cheng Che must be very angry, right?”
“He’s very angry. It was a bit out of control. Cheng Che got violent and hit them hard. I’ve never seen him so ruthless,” Yu Yang said. “But those guys deserved it. I saw Zhou Zhou’s neck was all red from being choked. Luckily, he wasn’t hurt elsewhere.”
“Deserved to be hit? They deserve to die,” Jin Wuqi clicked his tongue. “They dared to touch my brother’s partner. I’ll investigate further about it tomorrow and make them regret it.”
Yu Yang tensed up, “Is using such brutal methods necessary?”
“Who asked them to mess with Zhou Zhou?” Jin Wuqi grinned and flipped over. He lied on top of Yu Yang. His tone softened, “Anyone who provokes our family should face such consequences. You better behave and not get caught cheating by me, okay?”
Yu Yang swallowed nervously, “No. No. How would I dare…”

The next day during the long break, as the school’s broadcast system was malfunctioning, the students were not participating in the usual outdoor activities. Cheng Che and Yu Yang leaned against the railing, watching Zhou Zhou. He was not far away. He was playing and fooling around with his classmates. The sunlight shone on his face as he laughed. His eyes curved with joy, showing no signs of the incident with him being cornered the previous day.
“How carefree,” Yu Yang commented, watching Zhou Zhou.
“I contacted my brother yesterday and had him inform the school about us climbing the wall,” Cheng Che said casually while his gaze fixed on Zhou Zhou.
Yu Yang subconsciously responded with a “Hmm. Understood.”
Cheng Che didn’t speak any further. Suddenly, Yu Yang broke into a cold sweat.
Understood what? This is practically admitting that I am associated with Jin Wuqi!
“I, um… I…” Yu Yang’s overwhelmed brain struggled to find the right words.
Cheng Che finally withdrew his gaze from Zhou Zhou and turned to look at Yu Yang, saying, “Since when have you been together with my brother?”
Here it comes… This moment arrived so suddenly.
Yu Yang was relieved that he hadn’t come up with any stupid reasons to explain himself. Otherwise, in Cheng Che’s eyes, it would probably seem quite ridiculous.
“And when did you find out?” Yu Yang coughed and looked elsewhere guiltily.
“Yesterday,” Cheng Che leaned back a bit more, tilting his head slightly upward. Half of his face bathed in sunlight as he closed his eyes. “When we met yesterday, I caught a whiff of omega pheromones on you. It smelled strangely familiar.”
Indeed, Yu Yang didn’t use any suppressants yesterday. There was a hint of Jin Wuqi’s pheromones on him. His classmates also noticed and exclaimed loudly that Cheng Che and Yu Yang were both in love. The two handsome guys in the grade had found their partners.
As an omega, Zhou Zhou wasn’t as sensitive to omega pheromones. Also, being with Yu Yang after escaping from a bullying incident the day before, surrounded by alpha pheromones, he was frightened and didn’t pay attention to the subtle rose scent on Yu Yang.
“A couple of months ago,” Yu Yang admitted. “Not too long ago.”
“Hmm,” Cheng Che nodded with closed eyes. “Quite a rapid progression.”
Yu Yang thought to himself that indeed those two were family. Both the older and younger brother spoke at such a fast pace.
“You know,” Cheng Che continued, “Zhou Zhou’s sister’s boyfriend is my uncle.”
It took Yu Yang a while to recover from the shock before he sighed laboriously, “This world is damn small…”
Cheng Che chuckled lightly, “Indeed, the generations to come will be a bit confusing.”
“I…” Yu Yang suddenly realised that he and Jin Wuqi weren’t truly in a conventional relationship. So, he said somewhat gloomily, “Your brother and me. We’re not exactly dating. I just ‘marked’ him, that’s all.”
Cheng Che looked at Yu Yang for a few seconds. His eyes showed a hint of understanding. “Oh, I see.”
Just as they were talking, Zhou Zhou ran over. He waved at Cheng Che and Yu Yang while running. He was like a savvy little newsboy. The wind blew his bangs aside. His hair bobbed up and down as he laughed. He looked radiant in the sunlight.
Zhou Zhou’s face was flushed, probably from playing a bit wildly just now. It had been a long time since they all enjoyed such a relaxed break. After steadying himself, he grinned at Cheng Che without restraint, “Cheng Che! What are you two doing?”
“Just chatting.” Cheng Che straightened up slightly, reaching out to pluck a stray eyelash off Zhou Zhou’s face. “Good boy, stop running around. Take a break.”
“Okay!” Zhou Zhou didn’t even glance at Yu Yang during the entire interaction. He stood between Cheng Che and Yu Yang, facing Cheng Che. He left Yu Yang to face the back of his head. Zhou Zhou’s tone was cheerful, “The morning test results are out. I’ve improved in Chemistry again this time, you know?”
“I know. I checked the results in the office during morning self-study.” Cheng Che tilted Zhou Zhou’s chin, “Great improvement. What reward do you want?”
“Anything is fine! Let’s go to the supermarket tonight. There are no fruits left at home.”
“Okay.”
…
Yu Yang turned his head peacefully. Suddenly, the idea of having a campus romance came to him again.
