“Zhou Zhou! What’s going on?!” As soon as the chemistry teacher saw Zhou Zhou, she immediately threw his 18-point test paper at him.
The paper was so light that it fell to the ground after only a few centimetres, floating by the chemistry teacher’s feet.
The chemistry teacher angrily picked up the test paper again.
“Teacher, don’t be angry…” Zhou Zhou walked over and took a look at his unfortunate test paper, “I thought I could at least get 30 this time…”
“What’s the use of 30!” The chemistry teacher was almost having a fit of rage. She sat down and took a sip of water, “The college entrance exam is coming soon. You’re so excellent in other subjects. But you managed to perform poorly in chemistry. Do I owe you money or something?!”
“I don’t think so.” Zhou Zhou thought for a moment and said.
“… ” The chemistry teacher pointed to the door, “Get out of here!!!”
Zhou Zhou held onto the test paper and suddenly had a bright idea.
“Teacher, I heard that Cheng Che from Class 5 won the chemistry competition last time?”
***
The last class was a self-study session for the whole grade. Zhou Zhou stood by the back door of Class 5 and called out to a student sitting near the door. He pointed towards Cheng Che, who was writing at his table, and whispered, “Could you help me get Cheng Che to come out?”
Zhou Zhou’s luck was just that good – he found the Alpha of Class 5 with the most adventurous spirit.
The Alpha nodded in a composed manner. He then stood up straight and shouted with enthusiasm, “Cheng Che! Someone’s looking for you!”
All thirty-odd pairs of eyes in the class turned towards Zhou Zhou standing by the back door.
Zhou Zhou managed to force out a stiff smile and said, “Sorry… for the disturbance.”
Cheng Che was the last one to turn around. He even capped his pen first and closed his notebook before getting up. He walked towards the back door and stood in front of Zhou Zhou, blocking the curious gazes of others.
“Go,” Cheng Che said succinctly.
“I haven’t even said anything. And you want me to leave?” Zhou Zhou pouted with a hint of grievance in a soft voice, “I didn’t come here to chit-chat and waste your time…”
Cheng Che seemed to sigh, placing his hand on Zhou Zhou’s shoulder. He led him towards the corridor and said in a hushed tone, “I meant let’s talk somewhere else. So that it doesn’t disturb their studying.”
Sure thing, I got it! Maybe there’s more to discuss!
Zhou Zhou rubbed his hands together with delight and followed Cheng Che downstairs. Cheng Che headed straight for the convenience store. Zhou Zhou asked, “Do you want a drink?”
“I feel like having dessert,” Cheng Che replied casually.
“Our store doesn’t have desserts…” Zhou Zhou looked troubled, “How about this – during the break, I’ll treat you to some? What would you like?”
He felt like he was incredibly clever, creating opportunities to meet outside like this!
“A strawberry milkshake.”
Zhou Zhou almost sat down on the ground.
His own pheromones were literally strawberry milkshake flavoured.
He felt like running around the playground with joy.
My favourite Alpha likes the scent of my pheromones!
Could anyone be luckier than this!
Zhou Zhou wasn’t sure if Cheng Che had smelled his pheromones before. But that didn’t matter anymore. At least he now knew that his pheromones might be the scent Cheng Che liked.
Damn it! Just do it! Pursue him relentlessly! It’s fate! A perfect match!
“Alright, alright, I got it. We’ll go out to eat together next time!” Zhou Zhou smiled so much that his teeth were almost invisible.
Cheng Che lowered his gaze and looked at him while asking, “What do you want to talk to me about?”
What else could it be? I want to confess my feelings!
Zhou Zhou thought this and blurted out, “Of course, I wanted to talk about—”
Fortunately, he still had a bit of awareness left. So he immediately changed the course of his words, “Talk about my chemistry.”
Cheng Che looked at him, waiting for him to continue.
Zhou Zhou felt a bit embarrassed as he lifted his head to meet Cheng Che’s gaze. The evening sun was so beautiful today, casting a warm glow over Cheng Che, making him seem less cold and a bit gentle compared to usual.
It made Zhou Zhou’s heart race.
“The Chemistry teacher talked to me… She said if my chemistry continues to be this poor, it’ll definitely affect my college entrance exam score. If my score drops, my overall science score won’t look good. You know, it can impact my admission to a specialised major in university. Maybe even my chances at a prestigious one will be…-“
“-I know that. Your chemistry is indeed really bad. Scoring 18 points doesn’t seem like a human achievement,” Cheng Che looked at the playground with a calm tone.
I must endure.
Who makes you the person I like? Otherwise, I would definitely pin you down and step on you right now.
“Yeah…” Inside, Zhou Zhou was screaming, yet he shamelessly agreed with a lack of dignity, “And then… um, the chemistry teacher suggested something to me. You know, we’ve also learned about it in our history class. It’s the concept of ‘the rich help the poor’, right? It’s the same in academics. Helping the weaker students, it’s very much in line with our school motto, right? Unity, friendship, and creating brilliance together.”
Cheng Che pointed to the words on the teacher’s building: “Our school motto is ‘the competition of the physical world leads to the survival of the fittest.'”
Zhou Zhou felt like he wanted to set his alma mater on fire.
