After spending nearly a month in City S, Zhou Zhou was finally returning to City A. Jian Yan offered to accompany him back. But he refused.
“I’m not a child,” Zhou Zhou said.
Zhou Moning sat on the sofa, laughing while drinking water. Jian Yan patted his head, saying, “You’re still a child. You hid your early romance from us, didn’t you?”
Zhou Zhou lowered his head, fiddling with his clothes as he said, “But if it weren’t for Cheng Che, I might not have been able to study so hard.”
“I understand,” Jian Yan smiled. “Just because I know Cheng Che is a good kid, I want to tell you that when you go back, you should have a good talk with him. Neither of you did anything wrong. So don’t let this thing become a regret for both of you.”
Zhou Zhou had never blamed Cheng Che. He just couldn’t face it after experiencing despair and wanted to break away for a while. He never thought that he and Cheng Che would separate because it was unrealistic. They hadn’t done anything wrong. If there was any regret, Zhou Zhou only regretted not holding Cheng Che’s hand and comforting him seriously at the time. As for the rest, Zhou Zhou didn’t dare to think about it. He would be devastated if he and Cheng Che were no longer together.
“But I’m not feeling well…” Zhou Zhou’s voice was low as he expressed his concerns from the past few days. “My heat cycle hasn’t returned. And my pheromones haven’t fully recovered. I don’t even know if I can have children in the future.”
On these matters, Zhou Moning and the others did not hide anything from Zhou Zhou. They told him the truth, hoping that he would take his health seriously and not touch suppressants anymore. They wanted him to protect himself.
Jian Yan reassured Zhou Zhou, “It’s okay, you’ll be fine. Take your medication on time, go for regular check-ups, and you’ll get better.” He then told him to take good care of himself when he returns and to inform them immediately if anything happens.
Zhou Zhou smiled and said, “I’ll get my driver’s licence first. Then I’ll think about it. Wait for my good news!”
“Have you finished studying for the first section of the driver’s licence exam?” Zhou Moning suddenly asked.
Zhou Zhou replied, “I suddenly remembered that there are things I haven’t sorted out yet. I’ll go upstairs first.”

The consequence of Zhou Zhou not studying well for the first section of the driver’s licence exam was that he had to take it twice.
When Yu Yang found out, he laughed hysterically over the phone.
“Hahahahahaha. Did you throw away your brain after the college entrance exam? You took the first section twice?”
“I selected the wrong answers!” Zhou Zhou argued through gritted teeth. “I could have easily scored 90 points!”
“I got 96! What did I tell you?” Yu Yang said. “If you can’t do it, you can’t. Don’t try to pretend to be great, okay?”
Zhou Zhou hung up the phone.
Yu Yang was relentless. He immediately went to tell Cheng Che. So half a minute later, Zhou Zhou received a WeChat message from Cheng Che.
Cheng Che: Heard you retook the first section of the exam?
Zhou Zhou: I really selected the wrong answers!
Cheng Che: It’s okay. The first section is quite difficult.
Zhou Zhou: Isn’t that right! There were too many questions to review. What about you? Have you started taking driving lessons?
Cheng Che, looking at his brand new driver’s licence on his desk, replied: I had taken the first section three times.
Zhou Zhou: … Your attempt at comforting me was too forced. Please don’t degrade yourself like that.
Cheng Che: Well, I’ve already got my driver’s licence.
Zhou Zhou: Damn.

It took Zhou Zhou a month to complete the exams for sections one, two, and three of his driver’s licence. He felt that obtaining a driver’s licence was a huge challenge for contemporary youth. He was thankful that his instructor was a beta and relatively gentle, as he had witnessed another student in a different car being scolded to the point of tears by their alpha instructor, trying to run away after slamming the car door.
However, this scene immediately took a turn. The instructor quickly caught up with the student who was trying to run away and embraced him around the waist from behind. His tone contains a complex mix of ‘irritation’ and ‘gentleness’.
“Damn, my bad. I won’t scold you anymore. Be good, continue practising. Your dad is coming back this afternoon. If he finds out I’m here scolding you, he’ll kill me.” He wiped away the student’s tears. “Damn it, I know I have a bad temper. I’ll try to change, okay? Practise a little more, then we’ll go back.”
“It’s become a habit. There’s this young master who comes over every day without his family knowing, to coach his boyfriend,” Zhou Zhou’s own instructor said calmly as he took a puff of his cigarette. “His boyfriend failed the first section twice. Damn it. It was his third time for the second section.”
The instructor flicked the cigarette butt out of the window. “These days, who’s stupid enough who has to take the first section twice? Tsk.”
Zhou Zhou timidly caressed the steering wheel and said meekly, “Did you forget? I also took the first section twice…”
The instructor paused. He then pulled out another cigarette. “Well, then, drive the car outside and practice shifting gears.”
“Okay.” Zhou Zhou shifted gears and pressed the clutch.
“It’s shaking a bit.” The instructor took a puff of his cigarette. “Very good, just like that. Now, slowly release the…”
The car shook violently and stalled.
The instructor looked up at the sky outside the car window and asked calmly, “When are you taking the third section?”
Zhou Zhou gripped the steering wheel and said in a soft voice, “Tomorrow…”
“Leave it to fate,” the instructor said wearily, biting the end of his cigarette.
Fortunately, Zhou Zhou passed the third section on his first try. Now, only the fourth section is left. He is not in a hurry. Since he passed the first three sections, why worry about the fourth?
He plans to rest for a few days before starting to review for the fourth section. Then, Yu Yang sent him a message: Want to play basketball together tomorrow?
Zhou Zhou: I can only shoot into the hoops.
Yu Yang: You can just play around. Cheng Che and Jin Wuqi are also coming. There’s no one else. So let’s just play casually.
After the college entrance examination, Zhou Zhou stayed in City S for a month. Then, for another month, he was busy preparing for the driver’s licence exam. Altogether, it’s been a long time since he last saw Cheng Che.
He misses him.
So Zhou Zhou replied: Okay, see you tomorrow.
